Short hunt = beach gold

Capt Dan

Well-known member
I had about an hour before I needed to be at the boat so I hit the beach for a quick hunt. Finding some clad was a good start so I kept going. About 45 minutes in out popped the gold men’s ring with what I hoped was tiny diamonds. Well, I had to go to the dock anyway, so I turned the machine off and went back to the truck to rinse the ring. It showed 14 k so I pulled out the diamond tester, and yay! The diamonds appeared to be genuine. The gold ring is only the third this year after many hours of hunting. Silver rings are a little more common.

Thanks for looking, Dan

AH, to go back to the 70s and 80s when a bad day was one when you came home with only 4 or 5 gold rings a day.
Now we have to contend with all the SS, Titanium, Tungsten Carbide that are worthless for scrap value. But the thrill is still there.
Just now I have more time to reminisce of the days gone by between each sweep of the coil. Enjoy the day.
May the ring of gold be in your ears and its glitter in your scoop.

Thanks WaterWalker, I have to settle with finding gold every now and then in the 70s and 80s I was way too busy chasing girls and finding the next party, I will not say that I regret that but a little metal detecting would’ve been good.
