Wow! Critterhunter! Sure hope you get on the mend quick. BTY, I find your "long" posts very informative, so get that typing finger healed so you can post again.
Regards
Ed

glad they were able to reattach it..Also glad it slows you down... wildherre

Every nerve in your body goes to the end of your finger doesn't it? I nearly cut off the end of my thumb back in the late 70s, right through the nail. They re-attached it. The nail don'tgrow right but it worked! You've been through the worst part... where they have to clean the wound... a least it wasn't fun back then.

Enjoy the pain meds... call in for a refill.

I thought that was an old wives tale. People really do things like that?( You'll Shoot your eye out )
I hope it wasn't your pick your nose finger, That would really suck.I ran my thumb through a milling machine.Join the club.
Your post's will be surely missed.

wishing you a speedy recovery... i usually coat the inside of my snowblower with paste wax prior to starting and carry a stick in my back pocket in case i need to clean wet snow out of the chute.. sorry for your injury but you can be thankful it was not worse..

Get well soon, and learn how to type with those toes..........

Thanks for the support. Really appreciate it. Was index finger on right hand. Was cut off near base of finger nail. The thought of what happened and the picture in my mind is worse than actual event. Cringe more from that then pain. Feel lucky. Could have lost whole finger or more. if i lose the tip i'll still feel lucky. guy came in minutes before me also from a snowblower and they could only put back one of his three lost fingers. when i went in they thought i was bringing his lost fingers for him. said no, the towel i'm carrying is keeping my hand from bleeding. oh, and my gloves were lost in hospital parking lot for a while with my finger tip in one. asked nurse if she'd be so kind to go find my finger for me. gloves must have fell when i got out of car. Glad they didn't get run over. :lmfao:

And the pain killers are great! loving mellow feeling from the vikes.

Sorry about your finger Critterhunter. Jeff Beck just cut his finger off slicing carrots, but still finished his album (with three fingers on his left hand!). Have a buddy that went out crab fishing for three days. Cut his finger off the first thing and still finished the trip. So your not the only one, everyone's got a "cut a finger off" story. Just hope ya the best. (by the way your writings of splitting hairs was great).
Cheers,
Jim
