I did that today also ( my first hunt), took me about 5 min to figure out what was happening. Also, it kept going off when I riased the MT out of the water. I would then put it back, thinking I hit on something. It would go off again when I put it back into the water. I would search, wouldn't get another hit, then take the MT back out of the water and get a hit, That was a 10 min lesson on it goes off for some reason when it exits the water.
