My 'second' detector was a 1979 purchased "Groundhog" Money Hunter TR/VLF
Built like a tank and took 4 battery.
But, I never understood the 'Ground Balance' effect feature on it as my ground was very benign compared to 'Texas dirt!'

Years later, I re-purchased another one from a nice lady in Ohio.
You know what? As I had of course figured out the GB function by then, I still didn't see much of any thing happening?
Totally unlike our manually ground balancing units today...you'll hear right away if right or wrong!

Went on to buy and own many Garrett's after that..my Fav being the "ADS 7"
Years after that I then owned the "AT Pro" and wished I had got one of them 10yrs earlier! Then I got the "AT Max"

And I'd be lost without my now 4yr old "AT-Pro-Pointer AT"
