you all out hunting

Hey Amberjack,
Your SD looks great, As far as I can tell I really dont think its a fake. All the SD and GP coils are interchangeable. Just looks like you got a newer coil. For the beach like you say a salt coil I think their called the platapus coils and are water proof as well.
I looked up your machine and it looks like the fast track mod only works for the 2200s up to the gpx 3000, after that it comes stock.
I can run in locked ground balance or tracking mode. You have to balance my unit in tracking mode and Its better to hunt in locked mode. That is where the mod comes in you dont have to fumble around on the detector to switch back and forth, you can balance on the fly just like the Gbs in all metal.
Here are a couple of pics of my mod, its the same as others on the web except I used a dirt bike kill switch for the fast grab button.

This is the drilled hole[attachment 199928 DSCN0871.JPG]
Here the audio jack is installed [attachment 199929 DSCN0874.JPG]
This is the balance switch already connected to the audio jack [attachment 199932 DSCN0877.JPG]
The kill switch I used[attachment 199933 DSCN0879.JPG]
The kill switch connected to the unit[attachment 199935 DSCN0883.JPG]
And shes all ready to rock[attachment 199939 DSCN0881.JPG]

Now I just have to get done researching some spots and put it to use, Its like you said it is a compliment for our Gbs as they will hit smaller stuff and these will punch out the deep stuff for us.
Cant wait to here how you do at the beach!!
Be Well:beers:

arh yes very good now its like a GP 3500 with the button i like it. you must know what your doing godigit1 wires scare me  looks like your set to go although i did hear these SD's need an amp? yours looks in good nick too NICE!!

its been a long drawn out process to get up and running and still not there prob need to spend another 500 bucks :rage: expensive hobby hey

no wont work on mine i have to do it all manually not to worry am sure i will get good at it beach is a good place to practice got a 14in mono for the beach so can cover some ground and still find rings deep i hope but its all trial and error from here on can only read so much and then do.

the guy from minelab said because mine was made 07 thats why it has the GP series coil, and its not a fake :clapping: so am smiling big.

i know don't see many of these for sale which is a good sign for me, and everyone has an opinion on what ever machine?

one guys said you cant find gold with a 2100v2 as the new machines are better and another guy said the will pry the 2100 out of my cold dead hands.

so i guess its just getting the best i can with the machine i have in my hands?

like the bug i was going to throw it in the bin when i 1st went off the beach to parks now it comes everywhere with me :clapping:

so time and practice with the 2100 or 2200 will find more stuff than a new GPX in someones hands that has no practice?

so as soon as the rain stops i will be back out there practicing i guess its why i like this hobby so much theres always something new to learn

when you getting out for a hunt with it?

Amberjack,
Yea I hear you a amp is in order it is kinda quite, Although I switched from the Grey ghost headphones that it came with to my Koss ones and they are allot better. But I still want a amp. $124 for docs screamer and $56 for one kellyco has. As far as finding gold these were the top of the line at one time and found the gold and they still will. Some have posted that they are deeper than the gpx but the gpx has better stability and mineral handling capabilities.
People are hanging on to them because they are good machines. The only reason I got mine is the owner died so they pried it out of his cold dead hands and sold it to me.:goodnight: No really the gentle man had passed and left it to his son who wasnt interested and really did not know what he had. I almost feel guilty for what I got it for (almost). I could not buy one of the coils and pocket rocket battery system for the whole price of everything I got. Some times it pays to watch craigslist and be patient.
I wish I knew when I could get it out for a serious hunt but its of to San Francisco again Wednesday for another round with that old house. (100+ year old victorian). But the Gb goes with me just in case I get the time to hunt while Im there. So far out of a months time it hasnt happened but sooner or later Ill have some time and be able to find a parking spot. I hate big citys!!!!:nopity:
HH:detecting:

hey godigit1

sounds like you got a bargain well done! i paid a bit more but only because of the condition "new" i am not sure if i want to get it dirty :surrender: got it cheaper than 5 years ago whenit was made and in the same condition so i cant complain

thanks for the smile with the cold hands ect did the old fella find gold with it?

just my opinion for what its worth but i would go with the docs screamer.

so if i can stand a bit of noise i will be right :clapping: whites duel field makes some noise so i will be right its a lot of work just getting set up to go nugget hunting but am sure when i see that 1st piece of colour it will be all worth it .

a month without a hunt? its been raining for 2 days and it had a brake for about 2hours i went up the park up the road for a fix only just found out it was a WW2 camp site found 4 old Penny's 43 the oldest so it w3ill have to holding some silver for sure well i hope sooooooo!

not a big fan of big city's myself but its where the stuff is hey i just head for the places i don't want to go to :sadwalk:

hope the rain stops sooooon i think the beaches may open up soon, been sanded in, fingers crossed.

hope you get a hunt in soon!

AJ
