Today was a mind boggling beautiful day as it can only be in Oregon when Mother Nature is happy. I grabbed my beeper and headed out. The outrageous traffic should have been my first clue. I headed to one of my favorite parks and what greeted me when I arrived blew my mind. The park was one solid wave of people and you could barely see the park for the people. They covered it like a swarm of maggots. You couldn't walk across it anywhere swinging a detector without wading through a mass of flesh. I sat for a few minutes observing this drama as more and more people poured into the park. They were laying, playing, picnicking, and sitting everywhere one would detect. They had badminton and tennis nets set up everywhere. I've never seen so many people crammed into one area. So I left and headed to my next spot only to be greeted by the same scenario. Third spot was the same.

Finally after driving around forever until it was past time to get home and feed momma I stopped at a park that wasn't nearly as loaded and detected for a few minutes in an area where few people congregate and of course found next to nothing. So I'll have to hit the first park either early in the morning or hit it Monday morning when most people are at work. Unless someone beats me to it there should be a fair amount of change laying around. I estimated that there were 500-700 people in this park that I could see.

Bill.

:usaflag:Things will get better. You just have to outwit the maggots. And just think of all the loose change that is laying in there now!!:detecting:

Yea, I know what you mean. I was out early Saturday and the sports field I planned to spend a couple hours
at was loaded with people. Went back Sunday and it was the same, so I reckon, today, EARLY Monday morning
there will be some little trinket they left me for my trouble. The only trouble is it's freaking COLD this morning.

We've had some really strange weather again; all that nice weather we had just took up and flew away.
