AS with that trip to Canada, my own trip to Elbow Beach produced lots of silver, lots of bronze and a bit of gold but at least the people were friendly.

My right side is still giving me some trouble, so I decided to take it easy today and work the wet sand instead of suiting up in neoprene and fighting the surf. The surf is still kicking up and the wind is still howling so instead of Horseshoe Bay and surf pirating it was Elbow Beach and wetsanding, today.
There was a 5 foot deep cut in the beach and I worked it hard this afternoon.
3 silver rings
1 gold plated junker ring
1 silver belly button thingy
several bits of junk jewellery, including an agate bracelet
2 British 1 shilling coins 1940 & 1963
2 Wheaties 1941 & 1950
$3.14 worth of clad

I ran into a guy who lives beside this beach as he was out for a walk with his 11 year old daughter, they stopped and chatted with me for a while. He told me about an area where he had found gold rings while snorkelling and his daughter showed me where she had found a gold necklace and all the pieces of an antique plate which her father had put back together for her. The father was nice and the daughter was sweet, this was the best part of the hunt.
No Gold but Silver saved the hunt.

Clever thread title! I think you ran into a couple of angels. Good luck!

BDA, I read on another forum of your inquiry about detecting cozumel, did you ever find an answer? I am going in a month and would like to know if I can detect there.
thanks

I have hunted Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Isla Mujeres in Mexico. I never had a problem with hunting those beaches.
