XP Deus loves brass and coins

I’ve only been using the XP Deus since December 2019; 11 months now but do live the results. I just dig this script I from this site in VA on Saturday; we’ve been pounding this area for 10 years now and I have never dug any civil war buttons here, just flat buttons and Bullets.

The other pics are from same site in VA this past spring; I just can’t believe the stuff I’m now pulling out of this heavily iron infested site; it’s like someone is seeding the site. Either people are sloppy in their digging or the XP Deus is all that. I’ve been using Deus Fast 14 KHZ with the 9 inch round HFQ. This machine is killer on small buttons and coins.
Curious what other relic programs do you all use? I’m no means an expert with only 11 months under my belt but do love the results. Will be going back to the site again this Friday to see if the Deus can sniff out another Reb button! Happy Digging.

So far you're doing very well!! I personally use a version of Calabash Diggers pitch program in the heavily loaded iron spots,
and I do mean heavily loaded! It will unmask targets but it takes getting used to. I still use 9" LF. Kinda fatigueing on the ears.
Calabash is right on the money about iron volume. Would be nice if you could turn it down another 1/2 point! Any other time
I run in full tones but thats not for everyone either. My2c

The Deus is killer in the iron. Hit that site again with at 28 kHZ and more lower conductors will show themselves. You can slow your Reactivity down to 2.5 or even 2 if you can. You will flush out a few deeper goodies.

Lodge scent thanks for the tip! I’ve been hunting using Deus Fast and have kept settings same. I will use your recommendation when I go out this Saturday to same site to see if this adds to other deeper conductive targets. Hope you make some good finds as well. Happy Digging

Hey Coinworld, is that Classic Head double-struck? Looks like a good site you got there. Definitely try some different settings. I like the 28 kHz on the HF coil. With the 54 kHz I tend to dig too many TINY lead fragments for my liking. But I have also pulled some ting cuff buttons with 54 kHz. Good luck!

Lodge Scent, Yes it is a double struck Classic Head half cent 1809. I can't find any info re. double struck coins for that year but I recovered it, along with an 1864 2 cent piece, and an 1801 Large Cent, all with the Deus!
