X-Terra 70 vs MXT

One thing is the XT-70 has only factory small coils the biggest about 10.5". The MXT has aftermarket coils that are HUGE for covering more ground while prospecting and relic hunting. Like big coils from Jimmy Sierra and SEF. I prefer the XT-70 over the MXT as a close call because of very light weight and some features. But those BIG coils for the MXT are attractive....and if you NEED them buy a MXT instead with a bungee cord.

willy, a fellow I know in B.C. near a Jade deposit area said he could hold his metal detector and coil over his head and it would scream off because the iron in the rocks(bedrock) below his feet was so huge and high grade and he was a tall man...so that expains it....just like detecting a vehicle(car or truck)...so much iron. (He could be on to good money in a very high grade iron ore deposit.)

Use VLF Disc. there or a Minelab GP(X) with a small DD. Like the 5x10" CoilTek Joey...

Maybe another all round unit to look at like the XT-70 and MXT....

Re: Finding silver coins only?

My question, "Also on your site, is this a high performing unit for coins, gold. and depth??
(Looks like a relatively unknown sleeper unit with a long history of improvement and developement and success at finding things I have read and heard.)"

Reply, "Switching over to the Discovery Baron II. This unit is a super detector, designed by George Payne. Like all big units the learning curve is steep, but the payout is great.

It's as deep as it get's. No one would have to worry about taking the back seat using this, once it is learned. It has a Gold program built into it, silver coin program, or a relic program. Take your pick."

Up to a 18x15" SEF for the MXT:

Up to a 25" round and also the 18" Bigfoot for the MXT: (p.s. I use to have this 25" coil for the old Whites Eagle.)
Also I just edited this. I do not think I am suppose to post a non sponsor on this board being Jimmy.

See what I mean HUGE coils for the MXT but the XT-70 has only about a 10.5" round DD as the biggest one:

That maybe a buying decision for deciding between the two.

I wish Minelab would make a bigger coil for the XT-70.

If you are a relic hunter or prospector you may want a HUGE coil to cover that ground.
