X-Terra 70 Coil choice

Thanks for posting those two options. However, they are still real small, unless you "click image to view full sized", then go to "View" in your Internet Explorer tool bar and click Text Size, then click Largest and then click the +mouse indicator over the chart to make it full sized. Is that the only way to get it big enough to read? Thanks again. Randy

Hi Randy,

As far as I can see yes, it looks like the new format creates a large thumbnail at about 40% size which will make it load faster for those on dial-up & reduce server bandwidth. For normal photos this is not an issue, as you can then look at it and choose whether to enlarge it. For what you are trying to do with Tables/Text......... it Sucks!

There may be some inline script that "you" can add, that will override the default behavior with photos. I am not familiar with the "Phorum" software and even if I were, you would probably need admin privilege's .

Hi Randy,
That chart is perfect mate, that's what it looked like on my screen until I sent it.

Hi Mick,
Thanks for your thoughts,
I wasn't ready to purchase an expensive gold detector because of work commitments.
I contacted BT several times & he convinced me to purchase an X-Terra 70.
With all the different technology available & my past history with VLF Garrett, White's 6000 etc I chuckled when I was purchasing VLF again, be it different.
I did have trouble hunting in the goldfields, mainly ground balance in heavy mineralised ground.
I was very disappointed, because I only had a day or only hours sometimes when I passed through the golden triangle.
But I must say I continually emailed BT & he sorted me out, his input to a complete stranger will never be forgotten.( will buy you a beer when I get to meet you BT)
Jenny & I are about to lease another hotel(promise this is the last, getting too old) then retire to fulltime gold hunting.
This gives me about 4 years to watch the PI progress with interest.
In the mean time I love the X-Terra 70 & it will never leave my side.
Be in touch in the future Mick.

Monte asked for a small concentric MF and I asked for an HF DD, and presto they appeared, see.....now wasn't that easy?

I pretty much stick with search pattern one and with the stock coil have noted a few differences:

Australian Predecimal - Pennys range from 36 to 42 (also found old English pennies that read 2:geek:, Half Pennies read 36, post-war Shilling reads 30, Sixpence 36
Australian Decimal - one cent coins read 34, 2c coins range between 36- 40, one dollar for me alway reads 32 and two dollars 30.

I think there will always be small differences due to coin orientation and soil but find that a good rule of thumb I use is that any reading between 28 and 42 has a good chance of being a coin, anything between 12 and 18, 22 and 26 has a good chance of being a ring pull, pull tab or bottle top, anything between 2 and 10 has a good chance of being foil, a metal fragment or part of a ring pull or pull tab. There will be 5c and 10c coins in the lower numbers so its up to you whether you want to dig everything or concentrate on the higher numbers.

u got it just about spot on harry, i usually dig exactly what u have posted above, i thought it was just me but i do get fluctuations with my coin signals too, i have found pretty much the same signals are exactly what u have posted although i have found 2 10 cent pieces and they have been perfect 12's both times, im yet to find a 50 or 20 yet but so far 12 has been a good one for me :)
