the two "Pattern" modes as well as the "All Metal" mode. What needs to be understood is that the 'All Metal' mode on the X-Terra 50 is NOT what some will refer to as a "conventional" or "traditional" All Metal mode that is threshold-based. Most of the time the good 'old-fashioned' All Metal mode lacked any autotune or maybe had some autotune to maintain the audio Threshold. This provided the ability to PinPoint a target w/o any extra or exaggerated coil motion.
With the X-Terra 50, "All Metal" simply refers to a motion mode that is basically an "all metal accept" mode, or you could say a motion discriminate model without any rejection selected.
It is the same as going to Pattern 1 or Pattern 2 and "accepting" ALL of the notch segments. No discrimination or rejection.
So, yes, in all the operating search modes you will get visual and audio TID. In the Pattern models you can adjust them to accept all segments, or accept and/or reject those you want to. It is easier to use the shortcut button to go to All Metal (which can not reject any segments) and then back to a selected Pattern mode (which you totally control).
I am really enjoying the new X-Terra 50. Very functional, with ample controls, yet easy to adjust.
