Wonder what's next?????

I don't need a new detector, but I do need to keep my interest up with my impact and to solve that a new soft ware upgrade would keep me loyal HINT HINT Nokta :nopity:

Yes a really nice software upgrade. Maybe a new coil that can use the freq plus in the upper 20s and 30s. Did they make the detector where the updates can't be big updates like the deus?

I thought it was way more on the price....Like a lot more..
I haven't heard about any prices for it but I know the invenio is like just under $10,000

Waterproof detector

Would it be safe to say that when the Impact was announced folks assumed it would be similar to the XP Deus as far as routine updates offering more than bug fixes ? The web site says "online firmware updates"

I have contacted Dilek asking about updates. She indicated that the company was not working on an update currently but would "evaluate" requests from users. They seem to be focused on the new models now.

Interesting to see what this will do that the impact won't do and why they didn't update the impact. It will have to have different freq and higher ones along with the standard ones. There must be testers in the US right now testing this machine. Time will tell

Well I don't want just an update I want to see something along the lines of how the deus does it updates and new coils with higher freq.

i feel that the Impact is better than the Nox , because the nox has such a compressed vdi scale. That alone is a deal breaker.

Darn, I just bought a Multi Kruzer cause it was new and could be updated. So instead of updates they bring out a new machine? Why??? And as for the Kruzer forum it may as well not exist. Is there something wrong with the Kruzer that no one makers posts or is it just not as popular as other brands. I bought it for the water and because it has better separation in the VDI range.

They still offer the waterproof Kruzer, Multi-Kruzer and Gold Kruzer models and simply added the Anfibio series of an Anfibio Multi, Anfibio 14 and Anfibio 19. As a set they are different from the Kruzer series, somewhat, yet all of them provide remarkable in-the-field performance.

Upgrade ability is really just a feature to fix a glitch or do something the engineers feel a definite need to address. It doesn't man a detector is going to be constantly 'upgradeable' because they can't be.

Note, too, that there are many detecting enthusiasts who prefer an 'S' curved rod system to a straight rod design and visa-versa. Therefore, Nokta-Makro is offering something that's waterproof that can appeal to more people than only one physical package design.

You made a good detector choice for several reasons.

The Only detector I own with TID that is limited is my White's Classic ID that relies of 8 segments. It's very functional, but it's also twenty-some years old and a simple 'flash technology' approach for a simple analog detector.

All the rest of my detectors provide me a broader-range numeric VDI scale, especially for the non-ferrous range of conductive targets. I like that. I don't care for, and do not want, a modern, digitally-designed detector with a narrow and limited TID reference.

When the ability to upgrade the detector's software via the internet became available on certain models, some took that to mean periodic updates from the manufacturer that would add new features and improvements for free. Almost like getting a new and improved machine every few years without paying anything more for it. Great for the detectorist, but not very profitable for the manufacturer. Not to mention what could actually be accomplished strictly through software upgrades would be limited.

The exception to that, to some degree, has been XP which uses their software updates to introduce new coils and pinpointers for the Deus. Since those accessories actually cost more then some metal detectors, it works out well for XP.

Some beaches , more fresh gold is dropped than others. There are some hunters around that hit the 100 gold ring season. That's using today's technology.
How do they do it? Well they got to live close to good water. Second , they know how to hunt. Research, and contacts, shortcuts , lots of experience and time.
The invention of the smart phone, and expensive Tattoos, that's where the young are spending big money on. Spent time observing around average, busy beach won't see gold like back in in the 70's , 80's & 90's. When gold took the big jump, is when things started getting tough for the average hunter. So a $6,000 to $12,000 machine ain't ment for a weekend duffer. In the hands of someone who can hunt once the crowds start leaving till dawn, well maybe.
Waiting till dawn to start, you'll see lots of competition. In order of importance, #1. The site. #2. The Hunter. #3 The Machine
Of course what do I know?
