WOBBLE IN SEA HUNTER SHAFT?

jimmy jam

New member
Any hints on how to stop the wobble in the shaft on my sea hunter? I got the box hip mounted.

Infinium is the same, wobble-wobble..........going for a Strait shaft next season

What I did was.....using a punch with a point hit the outer shaft on both sides. Hit just hard enough and you will cause two dimples that will take out the wobbles. I did it to my Anderson straight shaft. HH

I have owned a couple of Mark IIs, but this issue is not only isolated to that unit, they will ALL wobble, unless you take steps to eliminate it ever happening. What I like to do, is take those steps while everything is new. Take a gander at a couple of units, I either currently own(Excal 800), or ones I've had in the past(CZ21-10) and observe the point at which the lower rod enters into the metal upper shaft. What I do is set the height for my liking and drill the push pin holes ALL the way through both sides, then I install stainless hex bolts, flat washers and nylock nuts. This makes the shaft rock solid and completely eliminates any wobbling for the future. This also reduces fatigue, from fighting against wobble in the shaft. Try it, you will like it.
