Winter is here

Moved down from Alaska to get away from 7 months of that stuff. (The pictures make me miss 3 months of it though!) Now...here in Washington state...rain. Al, Headed your way.

Woody, You're in the "perfect" weather there in Sacramento. Very nice place and welcome to the world of detecting! It's a blast! HH, Nancy

Hey Nancy, they are calling for 7" to 14" of the white stuff from Madison to Milwaukee today and tonight. You guys better hang onto your hats. Wind will be coming right out of the north headed your way. Merry Christmas.

Shooter, Gee thanks! I heard we were in for some more snow. You sure know how to ruin a good day! ;) We had a few drops of rain that turned to ice on the deck this morning and boy did I go for a ride! :stretcher: OUCH! Stay warm and get the snow plow ready! Nancy

Was checking the Doplar Radar this morning and it looks like you guys are getting shmucked. Maybe you'll get lucky and it will all be rain instead of that Santa Claus stuff.:super: I have to go start digging out. Good thing I fired up the snow blower yesterday for a test run.:bouncy:

Have been feeling fortunate that the weather, here has been mild. But now..........!!!! Here in a week, we are going to see temps. just above ZERO. We just aren't used to that stuff! Guess I'll be digging out the Carharts (and putting away the machine).

Wow, what a contrast in environments. Over here we are still in the grip of a 10 year drought, lakes are almost dried up, fish all gone and we have almost forgotten what a green countryside looks like. Summer is on our doorstep and we are getting ready for our 30c+ to 40c+ days. (90f - 115f). I buy our drinking water. The town I live in has had to revert to bore water as the town supply has almost disappeared and what,s left is contaminated with algae. The bore stuff tastes like rubbish.
But on the up side we can detect all year round, the down side flies in the billions, you have to wear a fly mask.
In the words of our infamous Ned Kelly "such is life".

My goodness. Yes, what an adversity of climates. I never knew it was so extremely dry there. Yes, you are able to hunt all year round, but I do know that Australia has the top ten poisonous snakes also. Do you ever come across any? I think that would make me put my detector away and NEVER go hunting again. Snakes and I don't get along.....and then poisonous snakes and I NEVER will get along. I am sorry about the drought. Here we are complaining about a little snow and we have plenty of drinking water, and water in our rivers and streams. Shame on us! Sure wish we could send some your way! Huh, the Ned Kelly around here is the Aussie steak house. HH and thanks for the posts. Nancy
