Winter is approaching, I have qts??????, Help.

I guess it doesn't surprise me that there would be tons of trash unfortunately :(. It surprised me when I started going to Hampton how much crap people leave on the beaches - just plain garbage!! It honestly makes me sad to see how lousy people take care of places like that - it isn't that hard to bag up your cans, bottles, wrappers etc... and drop em in a garbage can on the way back to your car - some people are just pathetic.

I've been hunting some lakes as well - I'm going to give a local pond a try this weekend. As far as I can tell it's been a swimming area for quite awhile and I've never seen anyone hunting it. I spent 30 minutes one day in the shallow area and found a couple bucks in misc. clad, but it goes out much further so I've got my fingers crossed.

I'm sure our paths will cross.

IM IN BILLERICA MA,I HUNT ALOT WITH TWO OTHER HUNTERS FROM BILLERICA I MET ON THE FORUM. IF WE MEET UP THIS WINTER IM SURE THEY WILL BE THERE. WE ALSO MEET UP WITH ANOTHER GREAT GUY JAMES B. HOPE FOR SOME STRONG NORTH EASTERS WITH RAIN!! SNOW MAKES PARKING HELL!!

I've only hunted Hampton at off hours (1am-8am or so) on the weekends so I didn't have the best idea of the clientelle, but it sure doesn't surprise me that it's mostly kids. I hunted Salisbury beach a couple times and noticed that it was significantly cleaner - must be more families.

I live up in Londonderry, but as luck would have it I actually work in Billerica MA :). I used to detect with an old Whites Coinmaster back over 20 years ago when I lived in Wisconsin. College, marriage and work eventually took over my time and I didn't get the urge again until this past winter when I picked up a used Fisher CZ20 from someone I knew who just didn't use it and needed some cash.

I'm having a great time again, and I'm hoping that between this years finds and setting aside a little extra $ now and then that I can upgrade to the Excalibur since it seems to get mostly great reviews - maybe a Xmas present for myself this year, we'll see.

If you ever want to meet over lunch or dinner or just for a drink after work or something let me know - I'd love to meet and talk TH'ing! Good hunting to you.

WHAT PINKIE WINKIE? OOOOHHHHH,,,,,that Blinky dinky, Yes I agree, dont want to get that wet at all, may catch the flu if not careful.

Yeah, I bet it make problems even worse. Buying a Sovereign GT tomorrow for about $150 off the reg. list price. Would be great to meet up sometime. Plan on getting out there much in the winter and already purchased neoprene waders yesterday. Definately stay in touch, we should meet sometime. Have to try relic hunting as well. I guess in the winter time there is plenty of loot for all of us,.... I hope. Your the experienced one, am I hopefully correct?

Diane, thanks for the great info, I really appreciate everyone that has been responding. Its great to make new friends out here. Your info will really come in handy. I am starting to like winter for the first time in my life. Only reason I came up north was to attend law school as well as be closer to mom. Now I can officially say, "CAME NORTH JUST TO HUNT HUNT HUNT, till my daddy takes my detector away."
