Will be the proud owner of a Bandido II Ųmax when it arrives!!

Congratulations! I think you'll like it more than you would the outlaw. The audio on the older units is way more descriptive. Mine should be her by the end of the week!
Congrats to you too!!
Mine going priority, but it cost for that lol.
Should be here Thursday latest since it's coming from cali.

This is a bit late in this thread, but I'd like to point out that the ground balance issue isn't quite as simple as ground balance = good, no ground = bad. I have several detectors of both types and in many if not most locations, the factory preset ground machines work pretty well. Granted, there are locations where ground balance is truly a necessity, but I've detected and retrieved many goodies without being handicapped about being able to adjust the gb. That said, for the owner with only one machine, adjustable ground balance is a good choice so it is there if and when you do need that function.

I will definitly run the detector stock for a bit, but considering there's no warranty to worry about and I have the components to do it, it won't hurt to have GB on the cibola. I've read that some say it beats the vaq with the GB mod, but I doubt it will hinder me.
Partially doing it for the fun of trying it.
And the way I'm doing it, it will be reversable.
But I agree. My only unit that has GB as of now is my relic and I've been getting along without it since I got that

At any rate, I started another thread about the cibola and want this one back on track.

Anyone out there with tips and stuff about this bandido would be great!!!
It's my first multi knob analog unit.
Thanks

Or maybe calling it a beep and dig is more accurate. Not sure if it's analog considering the chips that are in them.

Well gents, it arrived yesterday and I tried to GB with the 8 in and the 5.75 in.
I need practice on that lol.
Not sure if I'm doing it wrong, but I ran over the same area as my compadre and it beeped alot less...

Also considering, if I can get the hang of setting it up. Getting the newer style pole assembly. It came with the shiny gold poles and no cam locks. So it wiggles a bit when swinging.
I just did a quick check so I'll have to play with it more and reach some GB videos on it and look over the manual again.

I'm thinking I'll leave the 5.75 on since I have the 8 compadre. Also have the 4in coil but haven't tried that.

I do like the audio frequency though.
Definitly has a different puch, which also means I'll have the learn the audio cracks and stuff on this one.

you can see the one I did video to see what its meant to sound like, think I went through the settings, do it with your headphones off to start just have the threshold just loud enough so you can hear it, can start off spinning the GB knob 2.5 turns either way then back 2 turns then just small movements.

yeah its a bit strange at 1st , just turn a bit then bob not turn and bob, in auto , thres like I said sens at 9 or 10 and most of all just remember you cant brake it.

pretty sure you can buy top and middle poles from kellyco not expensive and away you go.

AJ

that must be one of the 1st or the rods are from another detector I have not seen those cam locks before, someone will know more than I

use the 8" coil switch in AM and Auto and do as above see how you go

really and this is just me the price of Tesoro's and living in the US best to buy new anything goes wrong its fixed free, spending less at the start can end up costing more in the long run , I know I buy new if I can for another reason if I buy 2nd hand and its no good going to cost me heaps more, but buying 2nd hand is a gut thing for me

AJ

I'll give it more of a try this weekend. I'll rewatch your video.
And as far as the second hand thing, o agree.
Can't get bandido new, so no choice there.
Cibola was an accident so I'm modding it to the hilt.
Deleon was a choice. Got it for 40% price of new and spent the 50 and now it's going to function 100%. After the cost of sending it in its still half price. I know it's different here in the US because it's cheaper to ship it in.

But all the rest and the rest from here on out will be purchased new. Prefer the warranty and knowing it's perfect and not used.

yeah well that's the other thing shipping is cheap inside the US cost me like 50 bucks + each way for a coil, better off just tossing it and buy another one, only reason I sent the coil back was its not made any more 4 pin cleansweep coil like chooks teeth to find.

and after all that I ended up fixing it myself.

anyway enough of that !!

Outlaw is the same detector as the Bandido II µMax, I like  specially with that 7" coil on there its ok to take it off the Deleon and put in on the B2 it wont do anything bad to it , for me one of the best gold ring hunters around.

Ok cool.
In the process of ordering a new pole set. The old model I have doesn't have cam locks so it's wobbly and itritating.

Yeah for sure not fun. Feels like my ace350 lol. Older one with no cam locks. But more loose.
I'll see. The gent I spoke with at a michigan dealer says he thinks he has them in stock. I hope so. Tesoro says they want me to go through a dealer so they aren't cutting them out.
If I didn't love my compadre so much, I'd use the pole system off that. Lol

I use these universal shaft locks on almost all my detectors, far superior to any camlocks, easier to fit just use a screwdriver to initially install them, then if you need to change the lower shaft6 at any time just undo the knob.

As they are made in the US they are free shipping as well, much cheaper and easier than any camlock and will lasy 10 times longer.

Universal camlock

Have used them for years and not worn one out,far cheaper than any shaft, possibly the best detecting shaft accessory going.

Will those work on my tesoro? Not sure if the pole system I have is 7/8 and 3/4.
It's an old pole system so might not even be same dimensions as the newer tesoro poles

Yep,have them on 2 of my Tesoro/Laser machines, most detectors use the same universal shaft size, trust me they are the Dogs Danglies as they say,on my Whites and T2,as mentioned on most of my machines, takes about a minute to fit them with a screwdriver, fit once and then forget them.

K. I'll double check sizing on my middle pole. It's definitly different than my others

Little update:
Ordered new pole set with hardware yesterday.
Also had them throw in some knobs so my cibola mod will look better if the knobs will fit the pot and also to have some spare knobs.

Well gents, she's ready for a photo op. New pole set arrived today. Night and day difference!!!

I got really lucky on this one. I tell ya the thing looks brand new. Shining like there's wax on her!!
