Will anyone get mad at me if I compare a F5 and a ATpro?

Those who call it a toy have obviously never used one or if they did they certainly didn't take adequate time to learn it. I can't comment on the Fisher F-5 cause I've never used one but I have used quite a few other top of the line machines and the AT Pro has absolutely no problem keeping up with them and in fact running circles around a few of them. But the best machine is the one you have fun using, the one that you learn inside and out that's when you start making the great finds on a consistent basis.

It's really hard to compare very different detectors because it;s like comparing ducks to dawgs. Now if you want to compare simaler machines such as the ACE 250 or the 350 this can be very helpfull to someone.

You've certainly generated a lot of interest, now it's time to see what you've got to show us. I, for one, appreciate all the information I can get. Hopefully your comparison will encourage other experienced users to offer their own comparisons. Thanks in advance - Jim

This is how to find out which is the best detector

buy one of each and every sort and the one you use the most is the best

now i just have to convince all the manufactures it is of the utmost importance they donate one of each of their modals for very extensive testing i will of cause do a write up on each detector and about by the time they close the lid i might have come close to working it out :goodnight: and then we can close all forums and there will only be one detector for sale on the whole face of the earth  of course i will not be here then, so if you don't like my choice i wont have to worry.

geese my point is its a very subjective exercise that uses one persons opinion "mine" what if yours is different?

i think its not so much the detector but the brain under the headphones that needs to be tested now stay with me here OK if someone could invent a detector program that was made to fit the detector to the person like they do with golf clubs etc.. then work out a detector to fit the person now this would be one i would buy, am i crazy? probably but technology has come a long way and in the near future you will go get fitted for YOUR detector now we would all have the best detector?

interesting concept

I have heard about a comparison you did with the Omega, but can't seem to find it.
Can you point in the general direction, please?

Thanks
Tony
