Wife just counted my detectors! She says "why does anybody need 4 detectors?" I was in trouble until.......:poke:

Fortunately, my wife doesn't really pay attention to the detectors and probably can't tell one from another. So as long as they're not all in one place together, but spread out in various closets she doesn't seem to notice that I have more than "a couple" of detectors. I think the would freak if I put them all in one pile and she saw them. I've got 6 at the moment but two of them I had back in the 80's long before I met her, so they don't count. ;)

The wife raised her eye brows when I bought the Explorer (no3 detector) and was pacified when I bought no4, the GTI 1500 when I I told her that it was paid for by my finds! All my detectors were bought with funds raised outside the family budget so as not to bring down the wroth of the family accountant (whoops, I mean wife).
All 4 detectors stand proudly in front of the wardrobe in the bedroom! Gives me an excuse to handle them each time I've got to get something out of there!:detecting: Life is just full of those little feel good moments.:beers: I sure am glad that I'm not addicted.

I have an absolutely wonderful wife. She let's me buy whatever I want. And since she makes more money than me, it's all good.

I think it's because she knows how much she spends as well. Her last haircut was $207.00 and she gets six a year. Her last purse was $500.00. She had me go to her 'hairdresser' and my haircut cost me $50.00, I just about fainted right there. Back to Great Clips for $15.00. I usually get 2 or 3 haircuts a year.

So upgrade time for me!!

Yeah I started with a Metrotec in 1963. Hang onto that Toltec. Still a great machine. I had an X5 but parted with it. TRoy sent it to me to field test when they first came out. The old, noisy, 1266 is still a goodie finder. I whittled my count down to nine detectors. Had 13 or 14 at one time. I have a buddy who has about 22 or so.

I cut my own hair with our dog clippers. No joke! I save a ton of money. I cut my two boys hair too. This should be good for a new detector every year!

The Italian guy up the street is still 8 bucks. His eyesight ain't what it used to be so I'm always having to fix my sideburns. I have no idea where I'll be going when he retires.

If I sold all my wife's shoes on Ebay I could probably get a GTI 1500:rofl:

I have to say that my wife is very thrifty. Her purses and shoes are cheap. I think she just knows that each detector costs about $200 or more.
So maybe she's thinking that she needs a more expensive purse?
