Until I counted her purses. Seems all is well now.....:surrender:
I have 4 detectors. 3 cost me $200 or less. I also have 1 pair of boots (hole wore through the side) and 1 pair of cheap sneakers (Walmart) I have 1 pair of pretty good jeans. I have 2 shirts that I wear 99% of the time. I personally live simple and cheap. If I want a detector I work a little harder or sell something to get it. We Men shouldn't feel like we have to hide our detectors or race home to intercept the brown truck! But she doesn't understand. I am addicted to beeps of all kinds. It's time for all Men to bring their detectors out of the closet. Or any other hiding place!

Reminds of my pal. He wanted a new gas grill and she wanted a new sewing machine so they comprimised and bought............a sewing machine.

I now have a drawer full of metal detecting clothes and then I have some other stuff I throw on when I'm not metal detecting. I detect about 15 hours a week and I wear holes in the kness of my cheap Wrangler jeans about every six months.

I can't have that many detectors around. I always grab my 2500 for every hunt, and recently even sold a detector that was sitting around my place. I thought the detector deserved to be used and I was rarely detecting with it.

Funny stuff, Khouse.

I'm afraid that's what has happened to me. I have eight-oops-nine. I am tearfully preparing to sell the CZ-5 that's hardly been used w/3 coils and lower rods and to make matters they're telling I can probably only get $500 for about $1100 worth of stuff. But hospital bills, etc are pressing and I'm now glancing at one of the Tesoro's also. But they've been used quite regularly, as well as the bounty hunters- only the Fisher is in pristine condition. Now, if the CZ only weighed 2 or 3 lbs. and I was only 20 years younger......

It's better to collect detectors than girl friends. Gives you less grief. :detecting::yikes:

if you put them together there will be more of them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I would bring my detectors out of the closet, but they are keeping my GirlFriends from falling out the door....:surrender:

I have 5 machines and the wife doesn't understand why. I explained it like this, an artist needs more than one color and different size brushes to complete the job!!!:surrender:

Garrett Infinium, White's BHID, CZ20, CZ6A, Discovery 3300 :)

That's a good one! We are now metal detecting artists... Metal detecting is an art form. I believe that will work!

Some women are funny like that. Good thing mine doesn't care as I have nine detectors and at one time had 14 but before MS nailed my wife she was my detecting partner and was as addicted as I was. But then she was my fishing, hunting, prospecting, everything partner. I really miss her by my side and she really misses it. When I come home from tecting she wants to know what I found the minute I step in the door.

Bill.

Forgot to say - when my wife was still able she collected dolls. There are over 600 dolls stored upstairs that are going to hit Ebay one of these days. :)

I'm glad to be reading that your getting out more. Also it's nice to know that your wife still enjoys detecting through you. I have to say also that my wife doesn't mind me detecting at all. Before kids she would tag along and watched as each find came out of the ground. I only had one detector then. It's hard for her to understand that a person needs more than one detector. Heck I have two Ace 250's but one of them is waterproofed. That last year netted me some nice finds! I'll be in the water again soon with it.

I have 10 detectors. I even have the first detector my Father bought me in 1968 when I was 15 years old, a Metrotec 220-A, still works!. I have an old Jetco, a Tesoro Toltec 100 I bought in 1987, cant get rid of that found my first silver dollar, 1892-O in Hamburg, Mi. I have a few Whites, a Minelab EX II, A Garrett 2500. These two have the Sunray In Line Probe, A Troy Shadow X 5, and a couple other detectors, Oh Yeah, My Son's are on a Treasure Hunting Vacation right now out west. They have my Fisher 1266 and a Ace 250 and a Whites MXT. I ask them "When are you going to buy a detector"?' They said, " Why should we when you have all of these to chose from"?" Good Point. At Least I get 10% of all they find during the 30 days they will be gone. So, That will work!

I had the same problem with my three X-Wife's. They all said, "Either you get rid of some detectors, or Me!" I helped them all pack!!! Like an earlier statement above said noise from a detector utll you turn it on!!, HeHeHe. Thant's why all my machines have Female Names!!. I like it better this way.Besides, I am an Old fart now!!! Any way, HH...Jesse.
