Why is this forum so toxic lately?

Tesoro has like, what, 24 employees? They aren't a mega-company with giant R&D and marketing departments. Tesoro makes great metal detectors, lightweight, affordably-priced, and made right here in the USA. If that wasn't enough, they back them up with the best warranty in the business. Oh, and you can call them and actually speak to a human being. If you ask me, they represent all that's still right with this country. They harken back to an age, that frankly, I miss. I'm astounded to hear people put them down. In fact, I heard someone complaining on another forum that they had to pay a nominal fee to get their SECOND HAND Tesoro fixed. Give some people an inch and they want to take a mile. And not only do they try to take that mile, they bash the company on the Internet, knowing it will hurt future sales. There will come a day, not just in consumer electronics, but in all businesses, when there will only be huge corporations left and the consumer will be stuck with the mass-produced, foreign-made garbage that they feed them. Then people will wish there was still a company like Tesoro around. Aside from all that, their detectors are truly awesome, at least to those who have the patience to learn them.

Ain't that the truth!

There are a lot of worthless people out there today. Give them an inch and they'll take a mile.

The internet has made people this way...Before the internet you would not have any information about new machines, new anything. You waited for the next treasure magazine to find out anything new..Today with the internet people expect new technology and products as fast as the information about them comes out. I can remember 30 years ago about driving up to Kellyco to see if anything was new out, and talk to the guys there about any news about new detectors. I think its just to easy to get online to complain about this and that. Tesoro is doing what they have been doing for years. When the new detector is ready it will come out. They are a no bells and whistle detector company, always have been, Thats just the way they roll.

So true. We've become a little bit of an impatient entitled society.

We have tried for years to avoid the simple fact that there are just too many factors to correctly ID a target. I can understand those who aren't serious and r want an ID machine, but the Deleon and Golden were ample. It's simply frustration from realizing this hobby requires some work. And what would it be like if it was EASY for anyone to just go and find targets without any sweat or effort.

These wrong just inside Grand TESOROS range, which is more adapted to the fans has been the VAQUERO , not only in America but in Europe and part of Russia, and all its depth, discrimination, stability and weight, if looking for something better to wait to 2050, American Greetings friends from Spain.

The problem I think is people get personally offended if another doesn't care for the detector they use. That baffles me. Why would I care at all if someone bashes the detector I use? Maybe they've had a different experience with it. Like I've said before, I love Tesoro detectors, I just think the Vaquero is terribly overrated. That's not bashing it or trying to be a troll. When I am in the market for a new detector I want to hear the good and the bad about it. It seems here if anyone has a negative feeling towards a particular Tesoro, they are wrong, rude, bashing, trolling, etc. There is a lot of false praise and dishonesty when you don't allow the good and the bad.

Sorry friends

On all my responses on this and several other forums, I try to never belittle someone else's machine even though there are several that I'd never purchase. I strongly favor the "If it works for you, use it" philosophy. I have pointed out from time to time that a person should be using a detector with manual ground balance or other feature that applies to the problem they post if that is a pertinent, technical answer.
