I went to a very close site that I've always thought would give up some gold. Finally today it did! I was pretty excited to bust out of my gold ring slump. It's small (2.4g) and only 10K. The band is broken. One of the emeralds is cracked in half. It's missing a diamond. I'd say it's just about perfect! Wasn't only yesterday I posted I didn't think I'd ever find gold again?

Some other cool finds. My first ever grill. I think I'm pretty upset about this one. First. Somebody paid good money for it. Second. They actually wore it out in public. Third. It ain't gold. I'll test it anyway but it looks plated. That peanut fob is really heavy. Hard to imagine anybody wearing it. It might be off of a key ring. It's pretty spiffy, though. Tool tag. ID bracelet. "Chelsea." Some clad.

Great finds! But you said you will test the grill to see if it is gold. How do you test something to tell?

I have an electronic tester and acid test kit too. It isn't gold. If it's gold plated it's very thin. Before I did it for myself I took questionable items to a local pawn shop and the owner tested them for me.
