Who uses a pinpointer and what brand do you like?

I use the AutoMax V.2 and V.4, very dependable no problems.

Called Harbor Freight CS to check on my back ordered Cen-Tech pinpointer, was supposed to ship 07/25. Still on back order for at least 20 more days I was told.:ranting::veryangry::sick::rage:

Twalton, I had one on order in May and in June I posted to this same post about being on back order. Not long after I read in another post of someone having the same problem and decided to check their local HF again and sure enough they had some probes. Well, I read that and figured "what hell" so I gave it a shot about mid June and lo & behold they had three of them in stock. I was at work when I called, but 3 hours later I was the owner of 2 out of 3 in stock, I wasn't taking any chances. In the store they were going for $16.99 but I had printed out the web page from HF for the item (I figured instead of trying to explain to someone what it is that it would be easier just to show them with their own page) and it said $14.99. Since I had that with me they gave it to me for &14.99. Keep checking with the HF store while you're waiting for it to come in. It's worth the trip, for me it was about a 25 minute trip, heck, I'd have gone over twice that cause I was tired of waiting. I've used mine for about for about a month now and from a newbies point of view, I think it works great.

Sorry, I get a bit long winded, I'll hush up now..LOL

:detecting: I am using a Tinytec. Works for me and does not cost a arm and a leg. :tesoro: Bill in Texas

I also use a TinyTec Deluxe, bought it after waiting 2 weeks on HF. Best decision I've made for an accessory so far. Excellent sensitivity.

Mine that I ordered on June 10th just shipped yesterday. Of course I went to the Harbor Freight store in the next state and bought the last 3 they had. I called yesterday to cancel my order and they told me they already shipped!!!! Go figure.

Now I have to refuse the shipment or if anyone wants to buy one or both let me know.

Check out the web site for Hunter's Haven, they sell Tiny-Tec pin pointers. I use mine every time I coin shoot, saves a lot of digging.

7th call to Harbor Freight customer service - Said it shipped on the 12th, allow 3 weeks for delivery! Fourteen weeks total wait time, glad I bought a Tiny-tec, it shipped in 3 days. Probably trade the HB pinpointer for a decent used 4" BH coil.

Well what do ya know, the Harbor Freight detector arrived today after waiting for 2 months and 10 days. Protected by a bubble wrap mailer, it's in fine shape.
I air tested it on some pocket change: 2" from the tip for a nickel and clad quarter was about the average. 1-1/2" for a copper penny and about 1" for a zinc penny. That's better than what I expected since I used the China 9v battery supplied in the box. Gonna upgrade to an Energizer anyway.
