Whites Spcetra V3 or Minlabs Etrac

OK, So what your saying is that all machine's are pretty much same, and everything depends on the research and location. Interesting Concept. :drinking:

No I don't think all machines are the same but research, location and learning your machine dictates more of what you will find then kind of machine you have does. That's just common sense isn't it?

Now were back to the "Law of Averages". Regardless of how many, or who is posting, the more finds you see on one or two forum's should give you a reasonable idea on what detectors seem to be getting the goods. :nerd:

That's a good point but the V has only been out about 6 months and lately the amount of silver found seems to be about the same. And like I said before its the same couple of people that always post silver. Ive hunted with a etrac user a few times and its a deep capable machine but nothing overly impressed me the V just seems like a more complete and adaptable detector. And I don't know how many of those posts are believable some of the silver I've seen obviously wasn't dug and a dime at 10" on edge next to a nail no way. I personally know 2 etrac hunters and I have a V3 are silver totals are about the same for the year and they have allot more hours in this year than I do. I think either machine if learned well is very capable.

Don't get me wrong, I am not pushing any detector, as I believe whites to be an excellent company, and have made many great detectors, and your statements are correct. I am just making a suggestion that might be helpful. If you feel differently that's your prerogative. I still feel that checking other forums might be helpful in making a decision on what detector or detector's have proved themselves. Happy Hunting.

I skimmed this topic but think I got a gyst of what its heading toward. New technology doesn't mean that certain types of finds will increase merely due to that new machine. One must still hunt in the area where these finds would be, and more importanly EXIST, and secondly the machine has to go over it. It's like buying a Ferrari over a Pinto..it wont' shine until you hit a section of road that you can use it for what it is.

A LOT of hunters don't even use a computer! And many that do use a computer, DON'T post finds.

Find a local club. Find friends that detect. **Find a local dealer and do the test drive thing.

The price is not that much apart. The V3 is NOT $1695 Like all the naysayers quote!!!
The V3 is $1495...and if you go to the web site = Get a $100 off coupon. The V3 has sold on E-Bay from $999.99 to $1395. Some with wireless headphones;-)

Good Luck
Jerry
