White's D F question

its a learning curve but am learning its sounds and your right i have 2 other detectors and they don't seem to come out any more :detecting: and yes i have found coins on the beaches pounded by other guys so i am happy :clapping: small silver ring yesterday.
i just been trying a few different settings just to see how they do, pulled a small swivel at 8" today that impressed me to know if i am getting that i am sure to get the rings etc....

i have been digging everything to see what its telling me and today i got in my head this has better discrimination than my VLF big call i know but i think the more i use it and understand its ways it will prove to be right, don't tell anyone but ok? :surprised:

will be ordering the big scoop next week so i can get in the water a bit and see how i go hot enough for it today!!

in short i am like you and many others here very impressed !! :clapping: thanks for the advice very much appreciated :detecting:

Good luck and HH

In order to be very successful with a PI one must zone in on the tone listening for the "in" threshold whisper... if you are not paying attention to the threshold many can miss this type of signal because some will pass it off as chatter... its hard for me to describe these whispers other than a quiet spot in the threshold almost like a dropping out of the threshold but they are repeatable...

Last month I pulled 10 gold rings from a beach that was supposedly hunted out by hunters in the 80's... I got 10 gold my buddy with his pulse pulled 8 gold in about a weeks time of hunting... a beach is never hunted out... there are probably hundreds of rings still there but they might even be out of reach of my detector... every one of these rings was very deep... I love hunting hunted out spots that the VLF users don't go to anymore :)

i understand what your saying Craig i have heard the little brakes in the chatter very soft and repeatable but as to this point have been deep fish hooks  but at least i am hearing them this is a start and time will give experience and then in the water i will go! just a bit hard here with the surf being big and strong currents but i will be in there as soon as possible an d see what happens :wiggle:

did you pull 10 rings in your very 1st week of detecting?

time takes time and experience has to be earned?

No I pulled the 10 rings in the first 6 hunts at this site... I think hunt number 4, I found 5 rings, 3 being gold... total rings including silver and junkers was I think 15 or 16 but I don't count silver ringsI throw them in the scrap pile ;) I only count gold and platinum...

In the days when I was hunting hard and heavy I told folks I counted gold and weighed silver (O my bathroom scale!).

At one time I had over ten pounds of silver coins and jewelry!:clapping:

In the mid '80s I sold some silver for less than a hundred dollars.

A couple of years ago when prices started climbing i cashed in my silver for over a thousand dollars!

Today it is selling for three times as much!

well done you guys!! :clapping:

i am sure one day i can post some finds like these :wiggle: but until then its just so much fun being outside and having fun at the beach got to love the beach its a great place to be :clapping: at least i know great finds can be had so it gives me hope to keep going and who knows what the future holds :detecting:
