which price level detector should we be using? - borrowed from tesoro forum/thanks guys

...well fellas, and occasionally ladies too, its very apparent that we all feel strongly on this subject... which is why i moved it from the tesoro forum to here, the responses have been most interesting! i knew this topic would cause good debate, but i also wanted to know how you all felt. ive learned thru everyones posts that there really are no bad machines, or bad people on here, for that matter; but there are such things as having bad days and loyalty to your brands, and disagreements about such.. but thats ok, thats why we are all on here... to talk about these kinds of things. at the end of the day, we are all still involved in this great hobby and hope to find that oh-my-god-you-wont-believe-what-i-just-found coin or relic that will automatically put you in the upper echelons of the hobby! and it can all be done with a bounty hunter, a minelab, a whites, a tesoro, a fisher or any other machine you can think of. [even a compadre!] hahaha, had to input that td, please forgive! [youve done quite well, dont grouse!] ive learned, and hope that you have too, that it really is more about the individual and their machine. and no matter the costs involved- that seems secondary at this point. the better you know your machine, the better you will do. sure, you can throw in all the hidden factors, the abilities of you and the machine, and debate this until the cows come home [that aint gonna happen] but what ive learned from you, and now myself, is that it really is about the man/woman and their machine, and what we know about ourselves and our choice of machines, and have decided to be content with... search on, my brother and hh,

I just had an epiphany reading these messages and think I have a simple way of saying which is the "best", "best priced" or "most effective" machine. The machine you take out the door and to the hunting arena that makes you think "I am glad I went today" when you get home is the "Best" machine. We all do this for different reasons, relics, coins, jewelry, excersize, etc. No matter what the reason you went, as long as you are happy you went when you get home You took the right machine.

You guys are right. It's what you can get out of it.

Today I took my best machine (Euro Sabre) and hit a girls softball complex. Doing cross sections, and hitting the dug-outs and bleachers.

The Euro was putting me deep in the ground. I dug 16 pinnies, 6 nickles, 5 dimes and 2 quarters. No jewelry. Now jewelry and keep sakes

is what I was after. But it was just a wonderful day to be in the ball park. A little windy but no problem. If I had more stamina, Imight have

done better. But you know what? The time I spent with my Euro was the best time I had sense the last time I got out with my Compadre.

Point Is, if you like your MD, that's icing on the cake.

I'm tired but glad I got out and connected with my Euro.

HH,

I like to search old parks even the ones that they have been hunted out. With this type of hunting you need a metal detector that is above average in performance.Don't like clad, but it does pay for the batteries.

As one who have many machines some do some things better than others and little has anything to do with price. Knowledge is what it really comes down to experience doesn't have a price just time. For all the machines I own simple seems to work best for most conditions as long as a machine can produce I must be doing something right. With knowledge we have the ability to make smart choices suited to the hunting we do. Can't really say what treasure was picked off by which machine just know it was a good day out. Dan

I'm with you Dan,

I have already forgotton which metal detector I found my first diamond ring with.

I would have go back and find my post on it to be sure. Think it was my Silver.

I do remember the other one I found with my cheepest one.

It doesn't mater, I can have just as much fun with my Euro as the Compadre.

Just depends what I want to take for that day. Unless it's real close, I take two.

I'm OK,

Just as long as I don't miss out on the enjoyment I get from this hobby.

HH,
