Which Model Sand Scoop do you use?

I use the reillys RTG pro Royal stainless water scoop 11" long x 5 1/2 " Dia., overall length is 48" can dig an 8" deep hole in one scoop with no problem works great

The Rileys Treasure Gold (RTG6scr)

Best, strongest lightest 6" aluminum scoop I've ever had. ( 4.5 lbs )
This works best in sand and light pea rock size gravel.

If you are working in compacted river rock, you are going to want a stainless steel scoop.
Stainless is heavier at 6 plus lbs but will take a real beating.
Aluminum is not durable enough to take the type of abuse that most fresh water locations will dish out.

RTG has the best for the money, anything else is more expensive and never as good.

I use this one but with a slight mod. Works perfect and balanced, had it for almost two years and still holding up great.

that looks like a great set up, where did you get that handle adapter thing? I just ordered a pro-stock !! I had flip flopped on ordering between the sun spot(stealth) and the pro stock

Just curious, what made you lean towards the pro stock over the stealth?

Well. 2 reasons. I did not like the "u bolt" handle clamp on the stealth. And I didn't feel that it had enough smaller holes for tiny treasures. Although the stealth looked like it may be a bit heavier gauge steel. Also. The stealth also is heavier to lug around.

rtg 7 inch herc....stainless. added grab bar. added styrofoam to make it float. only problem is its heavy. and holes are rather big. i got strong magnet to add this season. grab bar is a must.

I got the scoop that i ordered (pro stock) the big one . with the handle installed it weighs in at 4.7 Lbs seems to be very well built. As soon as the ice leaves our lakes , i can give it a try

Looks good. Where did you get the handle? I was considering this scoop but I don't want to puchase it until I know I can easily buy a handle for it.

I got the handle at True Value Hardware. Ace hardware has them also..................Home depot doesnt! Now,,,,,I actually got a handle that is alittle smaller than the square on the scoop...but i used it anyways and I just put door shims around it to tighten it up. It should work out fine. Its solid as a rock!!! If you do a search on your computer for " post hole digger square handle " you will see whats available. I noticed alot of post hole diggers come with round handles these days...but its easy to find the square replacement handles

Here is a couple pic's of the bottom of the scoop inside and the scoop compared to a regular shovel as to thickness of steel.( it looks like the scoop is actually thicker than the shovel blade) I have no affiliation with the manufacturer.....i just know that when you spend this kind of cash for something...you want as much info as you can get !

I love my curved handle and my modified back strap lol i aalso love that i paid 59 bucks with free shipping :goodnight:

Tried my RTGBB6 scoop for the first time today. seems very sturdy. nice and light. scoops like a mofo ! Also just ordered two RTG # 723 hand scoops for the kids.

Can anyone give me a phone # for pro stock scoops. Went to the web site and no info to be found on placing an order. Thanks, Steve

I added about 18 inches to the handle with an aluminum pipe for mine. You might wanna do that to. When I get a chance Ill post a picture of it. Gimmi a few days. The bar gives me a lotta leverage and helps keep me from dumping the scoop...which happens sometimes in deeper water. HH
