Which coil would you buy

I have the X5 and I'm very happy with it. Can't speak about the others as I have no hands on experience with them, sorry!

Thats' a tough one. I have the 8x6 sef and the sunray X-5. Both are good. The X-5 can handle more trash but will get less coverage than 6x8. The 6x8 will see almost everything the procoil will depth wise however I believe the 6x8 does better over both the procoil and 10x12 sef when the ground starts getting pretty warm. Don't have the 6 inch EQ2, but have read good things about it. The 6x8 I believe is the heaviest of the 3 you are inquirng about. I can see detecting situations where one could need all 3 for the ideal hair splitting performance, but this may not be practical for the money spent. Based on what I've read and if I were only going to get 1 smaller coil to use besides the stock coil, I would get the 6EQ2 pro coil. In doing so you will get slightly more depth over the X-5, slightly less coverage than the 6x8 sef coil. Cheers

Thanks for your InPut,I've read everything on this forum for the past 2 years and found that this forum has a wealth of information for anyone who takes the time to learn from it.I'm new to all this, but I have done my homework and I'll be giving Bart a call for the New E-Trac in March.I've had to wait far too long but I've spent my time wisely reducing the learning curve. Thanks to all the guys ( Pros) on this forum. Money $2000 has always been the issue not the E-Trac.

I use the EQ2 and have been very happy with it. I'm sure that you will get positive comments about all 3. One thing about the EQ2, it is a little less expensive then the other two, but from what I've READ, the X-5 and 6X8 are supposed to be excellent coils as well.

I have the 6" excelerator and have had good success with it. Separates real nice. The day I got it I was detecting an area(maybe 10x10) I had literally hit in every direction and also in TTF with procoil many times and withing 5 minutes pulled a 39 merc. So it does have some advantages.

I got my E-trac from Bart last month. I got the 11" stock coil and the X-5 from Sunray. I have tried both but I tend to use the X-5 mostly. The places I am hunting have alot of trash and it does cut down the chatter. I am just learning this machine and I should probably be hunting over some more virgin ground but I figure its a trial by fire because I am learning how to sort through the chaf. I have no experience with other coils but Im sure others here will have some advice.Luck to ya.

I think I need a smaller coil for some of the trashy and tight spaces I want to get into at the park. I've had some issues that a smaller coil could probably fix.
