which 5" search coil?

I read your "field test" at the barber house. Wow, what a great coil, and some terrific finds. I'd have almost thought you might have needed a really big coil to get the deeper stuff, but then again, with all the metal trash, it would probably be murder. I guess that little baby, gets terrific depth, and separates the heck out of the trash. I like the fact that you can run it so hot, too. Amazing little coil. Marc (beachguy)

Thanks for the response, Mike. That coil sounds like the "keeper" of all keeper coils. I love the fact that you just use it or your 12.5". Makes sense to me too. It sounds like the reason, you still found good stuff on that barber house site, with the new 4.5x7, was it was just to hard to separate it "earlier on" with your bigger coils, I guess. Man, that must be a trashy place to hunt. I'm so amazed at how well this new coil separates, as well as seems to go really deep. I really don't think my 5" (hocky puck) would go any where near that deep. That's so interesting. Well, again, thanks for your super report on the new coil, and I wouldn't be surprised if the company contacts you to see if they could use your field test, for an endorsement for the coil. Boy, I sure would if I owned the company. That kind of an article sure sold me on it. Take care, Beachguy.

A big coil at that spot is sure death. There's SO MUCH iron in the ground everywhere...constant brap, brap, brap...a smaller coil gets in between it and plucks out the good targets where a larger coil can't see them. If you hunt sites like that, you WANT one.

Yea Mike, I keep forgetting that with the bigger coil, it's not just the separation issue, it's probably the masking issue too. I think I get your drift here. Thanks again. Marc. (I wanna get one, I just got to save up some bucks.):geek::|
