Where do you guys live?

I see folks deteting "dry sand", for example. Is that dry salt water beach sand? Fresh water sand? My name can cause confusion. Even though it says Nawth Carolina I actually live in Missouri.

The ground here is very moderately mineralized In other words, not much.

Where do you live and what number on your AT does your unit GB at?

Massachusetts here and I ground balance anywhere from 87 - 95

Dalton Ga. 85-88 GB

Va, preset 80 normally.

Massachusetts (Metro West) is primary home
Falmouth MA (Cape Cod) also a family home

Hello colleague, I live in Cantabria Spain, my GB between 80/85 in 95% of the land. On the beach in the wet sand 10/15 GB.
God Bless You, Senda

Winnipeg Mb Canada ground balance 84--86

West Michigan..by MKG....I hunt the Big Lake beaches, dry sand and wade, and some inland waters if the Big Lake is too rough within 20 miles of my house generally from 4am to sun-up......I dont fool a lot with the GB, in fact maybe only a few times a year... when I get curious and check, its 81-91...My early morning in the dark hunts go like this: Power on, hold disc button and count to '10', sweep away! So I'm hunting in Pro zero, 40disc, never full sens.....I found a super small gold ring last year that weighed only .4 gr.!..(something like this really makes a guy confident He is not missing much if any)

I never once used the pinpoint button, or any other features the Pro has available...we get some goofy black sand stratas that form here and really squirrel up an easy coin/ring signal...but with a bit of practice a guy can tell...I run 'iron audio off' most of the time..generally 3 clicks down from full sens....this thing has found me a lot of gold and silver, including my best gold/silver/plat finds to date...(2013 I had @4 oz of gold) the dang thing hits gold including chains like a friggin' freight train!...:beers:
Mud

Mud Yes, that black sand has given me my most ancient coins and on the beach, 1200, 1420, 1510. This is the Top Sand

Mud, if you are running 40 on the disc you are missing some gold. I watched a video a while back of someone showing id's on some gold targets and he said that running the disc at 40 is too high and the showed a gold ring that rang up at 38 or so.

I'm in "Slower Lower" Delaware very near the beaches and mine balances at 80.

I live in north Texas. Actually, on the Texas/Oklahoma border. GB around 78, usually. Unless I'm on the beach, then it's really low, like in the teens.
