I really hope we see a light weight CTX replacement with more power and speed and even better disc in a high quality waterproof package with at least the same carbon fiber rod setup “manticore rod twists too much” John
I'm here! Wanted a 3030 since I first swung a buddy's back in 2012 but couldn't afford one so I got an E-Trac in 2014 and swung it (with a short stint of 'Nox 800 use) until I got my CTX 3030 in January 2023. My E-Trac still gets used but my CTX is my primary machine. That CTX is great! This is one park I'm working that I was told by several detectorists in the area that it was "hunted out". Without the CTX I would have a tough time proving it isn't hunted out, both because I don't think I'd have found most of these finds without the abilities of the CTX and the GPS allowed me to log those finds and share them. This is 26 hunts over the course of 1 year.

this is unlikely. i emailed them and got to the top. they are not making a successor to the 3030. at the time i was told they had over 80 engineers working hard. and since then the manticore released. that is your 4040...or whatever it is they would call the successor to it.

Popping in to see how my fellow detectorist are doing. Nothing to show life keeps getting in the way. My ctx bought new has maybe 3 hrs on it. I know I’m ashamed lol. My Etrac bought new has maybe 40 hrs on it. This is my 3rd Etrac and my first ctx. I got my ctx out Sunday night charged the battery and the transmitter battery. Ran a few coins under it I was bored lol. Check the battery on the Etrac it’s a rnb battery. It’s still fully charged after one year of no charges. Got to love that battery and how it holds a charge. Lords willing I’ll retire next year. Then I will have plenty of time to detect. I have permission to hunt several old sites. So I’m pretty stoked about that. Just wanted to pop in and say hello. And this is the best damn detecting site on the net bar none. So in the meantime get out there and dig and get some exercise while you’re at it. Later peeps
