It pours...It's been awhile. I almost forgot how to post on here. The excal and I have been at it hard this week. Found the small wedding type gold band on Sunday, then the gold band with red stone yesterday and the gold ring with initials on it this morning. The silver was found during the last 5 days also, as well as the normal junk and change....oh yeah, almost forgot, and PULLTABS. So many I finally learned to listen for the double blip in AM. I can't always tell the sound difference between alum and gold, sometimes it's obvious it's alum though.
So the White gold with red stone was my first white gold ever. I was surprised to see how it tarnished to look like yellow gold. I saw the stamp and was stoked, but didn't realize till I got out of the water and really looked at it, that it was white gold. It even sounded a little different than yellow gold too, but I had a feeling when I heard it that it should definitely be dug. Glad I did.
I also wanted to ask you excal users, when you are in water and running disc. I am listening and trying to tune the machine to run on the lowest buzz (frequency)? Sometime it will ramp up to another tone, then if i wiggle my unit (haha) just a little, it will tune back down. The question is....is this correct? Does it sound like this when tuned properly? I know I found some goodies this week, but I am wanting to know if I am understanding Clives book. I am listening for the bees, right? Then tune it down to where I can barley hear it hum? I just want to be getting as much depth as possible.
Thanks,
Chris
