When is a Junk Tungsten Carbide Ring NOT Junk...

I havn't posted any more videos of finds since then, guess maybe I should - I get alot of views of that video :)

I think you get where I'm coming from beechnut - the only thing that differentiates this tungsten carbide ring from all the other junk rings I've ever found are the Real diamonds that are in it. Don't get me wrong, I know the diamonds are not all that big but regardless if this ring were in a jewelry store they would be asking several hundred bucks for it.

I did a quick check on ebay and the closest thing I can find to it goes for 375.00 - now I know I would be Very Lucky to get $50 bucks for it - but like Mike said sometimes the Unusual cheap stuff is sometimes more interesting than the gold items.

hi, i found one of these tungsten rings a few weeks ago and have looked into them - i don't want to rain on your parade but they are for sale in the uk for $20 even with inlaid gold and a diamond, well they are not diamonds as a real diamond would have a rear light hole where the stone is set as you can see in your pics they don't have, even if they were diamonds they would be industrial ones worth perhaps $1 each. .
Well I just sold mine with the gold band on Ebay for $55.

I never thought Tungsten was junk. Tungsten Carbide rings are amazing in looks and durability. I guess it all just comes down to personal preference. But I really liked the first one in your post, that one is great. Really nice ring.

should all put our detectors back in the cupboard and give up.. silver is 30p a gram (so a 5 gram ring is worth

I am kind of surprised by the nature this thread took - :surprised: his initial post stated that the diamonds were small but tested real and that is a 'BUZZ' regardless of value. Whether something is JUNK or not is up to the finder and certainly not for gatecrasher's to come in and 'bash' his post.

I will say what many others should have said: OUTATIME.............. congratulations on your find and thank you for sharing it with us.

Tungsten & Titanium rings are highly fashionable - particularly in the 18-25 age group bracket, the person who lost it wouldn't be very happy and many would love to own that ring.

Whilst I love finding gold rings.........I found a Titanium DIA ring a while ago here in the UK - I am very happy with it..........

For those of you who consider these type's of ring JUNK, just let me know when you find one and I will cover postage costs for you to send it to me - better it gets recycled than you throwing it away

finding pulltabs could be a good sign though... to me it means either the person before me has been discriminating or the spot hasnt been detected before or at least for a while..

On one of my old beaches (by old I mean people started going there around 1850s) and im still finding old style pull tabs (in the uk they used the newer ones around 1980-90's).. So if im still digging ringpulls that have been there at least 30 years what other goodies are still there? And the beach gets detected occasionally but they must be heavily discriminating and trying to cherry pick.. Kinda glad the beach is trashy so that other people discriminate.. Its not big (about 700ft wide) but I blitz the beach over an 8hr session so I dig all signals :)
