Although I use a 1250 I can tell you that you have
to dig a lot more trash than the coin hunters if
you want to get gold jewelry. I think it depends
on where you hunt and what type of gold jewelry is
most prevalent, or you believe is. In the fields
I hunt most gold rings are the small ladies rings
that read in the foil range. Not too many in the
pull tab range. So, I dig these foil signals.
Many of them. Just consider it as paying my dues
until the gold eventually shows up. Now you can
get rid of some of the real small gum wrapper type
foil by running in salt elimination. Yes, you do
give up some depth but if you hunt sports fields
most targets aren't all that deep. Eliminate those
small foil targets that are around 2" deep but still
hit a gold ring that reads 6 on a scale of 1-100.
Just playing the odds. Many times I grid a field and
dig everything I believe is not iron.
A lot of digging to be sure but you do get the gold. I
really like coming home with the gold myself and
the next time I hunt that field there will be that
much less trash to deal with. Just my opinion but
that's what I do. Other good suggestions were
given here too. You have a fine detector. Mine
has the same electronics as yours without the
profiling and I certainly have been impressed with
the ability of the 1250 to hunt.
Best of luck to you......just keep at it and don't
give up and it will all come together one day.
