I own and use Tesoro detectors. I have a Vaquero and a Silver uMax.
Not to start trouble, but I am not seeing any outstanding results from the Outlaw that could not be obtained from either of my two Tesoros.
There is no cutting edge or breakthrough technology to separate the Outlaw from any of the other Tesoro line.
One person who has handled one described it as a Cibola with three coils, which is a plus I guess if you go in for frequent coil changes.
If I added a third Tesoro to my arsenal, its would be a Tejon because it has features that separate it from the two machines I now have.
The Outlaw is a great example of why so many of us own, more then one or two of their detectors, I own five now.. What you find with most other manufacturers units is a progression of features and an increase in price. Basically , you get the same unit with a larger coil, or refined disc, etc. A good example is the Minelab XT series, all great detectors by the way. They're basically the very same unit, in fact most will tell you the low end XT 305 is all you need. With the exception of the Cibola to Vaquero, were the Vaquero has the GB adjustment, each Tesoro detector is unique. I think, based on my experience now with the Outlaw that's it's a culmination of the very best of several of their detectors. It has the excellent disc of the Silver, depth of the Vaquero through out the numerical range, uses that excellent 8 inch coil, and offers both all metal motion and all metal non-motion modes, and of course those three coils. These combined features make it, I think, their best "All Terrain" detector, just my opinion.
