What's up with the Outlaw?

My second hunt with the Outlaw brought me over 20 coins and junk ring, third hunt a 14K gold ring.

I own and use Tesoro detectors. I have a Vaquero and a Silver uMax.
Not to start trouble, but I am not seeing any outstanding results from the Outlaw that could not be obtained from either of my two Tesoros.
There is no cutting edge or breakthrough technology to separate the Outlaw from any of the other Tesoro line.
One person who has handled one described it as a Cibola with three coils, which is a plus I guess if you go in for frequent coil changes.
If I added a third Tesoro to my arsenal, its would be a Tejon because it has features that separate it from the two machines I now have.

The Outlaw is a great example of why so many of us own, more then one or two of their detectors, I own five now.. What you find with most other manufacturers units is a progression of features and an increase in price. Basically , you get the same unit with a larger coil, or refined disc, etc. A good example is the Minelab XT series, all great detectors by the way. They're basically the very same unit, in fact most will tell you the low end XT 305 is all you need. With the exception of the Cibola to Vaquero, were the Vaquero has the GB adjustment, each Tesoro detector is unique. I think, based on my experience now with the Outlaw that's it's a culmination of the very best of several of their detectors. It has the excellent disc of the Silver, depth of the Vaquero through out the numerical range, uses that excellent 8 inch coil, and offers both all metal motion and all metal non-motion modes, and of course those three coils. These combined features make it, I think, their best "All Terrain" detector, just my opinion.

Ya what he said..lol

Maybe you're right CladKing. I'll just buy two more coils and be good to go. I'm still loolking to get a beach machine. Can't decide Sand Shark or Tiger.

53silvers videos is what threw my brakes on too while I was racing around trying to figure out what machine I should buy watching all the demos I could find,,, but you'll see my newb posts here where i'm trying to decide which model.. I got alot of info here, I got alot of info thru PM's and over the phone,,, the way it was put to me is this machine is the bandito U max,, it goes deep, it has motion and non motion, re-tune, and comes with 3 coils and it is the best deal from tesoro right now.....

I just can't decide,, being a total beginner would it make any difference if I had this machine or a silver U max...

I agree. I know how much decision making I went through until I finally settled on the Vaq. Mike's videos are the best! Tesoro should use him as a field tester if they aren't already. If I didn't have a machine, I'd go with the Outlaw for sure. Aside the fact it's a darn good machine, coming with three coils is a no brainer. In my opinion.

Mine came on Monday! WOOHOO! The videos also pushed me in the "right" direction...thanks

Sad to say mine arrived on Tues with my toggle switch broke off...broke to the point it was not even in the box so not sure if it was damaged during packaging or shipping. Great news is Tesoro are the best to work with. Spoke to Vince and I shipped it out today for repairs. Hope to see it back sometime next week.

I am wondering if anyone had done some prospecting with the Outlaw? I am planning on getting one and will certianly try it in the gold fields. I will also air test it with some of my previous nuggets to see how it does. Probably wont hit them like my GM2 but I will still try.

I've seen this happen with quite a few detectors, but never with a Tesoro. Nothing like opening up you new toy to find it broken, no matter how old you are.

Funny part about the delays? We were informed it was in proof reading the manual that took so long. Can't beat a Tesoro that comes packed with not one, but three coils though. We always keep a Tesoro around wherever we go and you absolutely can't beat their customer service.
