What's the Dumbest thing you've heard while Looting?

This has been a fun post and I hate to see it fade away.

On the subject of political correctness what is your favorite/least favorite politically correct phrase? I always get a kick of the one that tries to be politically correct toward short people. They're not short...they're vertically challenged!

I suppose on the PC note, as applied to poly-tishuns "ethically challenged"

Looting is such a super bad term that reminds you of predators breaking down your front door and stealing you blind while your away. I realize that it's a "Pirate" term but our hobby receives enough negative press as is. Seems like more and more places are being closed to treasure hunting because of bad publicity. Just my thoughts and believe me I'm not a sensative person I just like to keep hunting places open for us.

I was hunting yard between sidewalk and the street when two drunks drove by They slowed to watch me then moved on. Few minutes later they came back by. One of them leaned way out the windrow and shouted "find this'. I saw a handful of coins hit the grass in front me. Man I was so mad I was shaking. In a about 20 feet I found $3.00, a good picket knife and a set of car keys all on top the ground.

Back in the '80s I was hunting the sand in front of a waterfront bar where the loungers often lost odds and ends of jewelry and quite a few coins.

I noticed a small "puff" on the surface of the sand as I sifted for a coin and I realized that one of the folks at the outdoor bar was tossing coins onto the beach for me to dig up!

I thought to myself, "Go ahead fool, you toss 'em, I'll diggem and we'll just see who goes home with the money!"

After recovering several dollars in quarters I felt a whack on the side of my head and realized that the drunks aim was bad or maybe too blasted good!

I stood up straight and looked the suspect in the eye and told him it was fun while it lasted, but that since he was losing his throwing arm and having a quarter bounced of my head was not my idea of fun I was calling it a day and walked away!

Last July I was in front of a neighboring bar and the same thing happened with the tiny "puff" of sand and I looked up to see a table with several fellows grinning wide grins and I walked over and told them about the long ago event.

We all had a laugh at my expense and I told them that I would find the coins already there, but please don't throw any more out and ruin my fun.

I didn't want to have to be constantly worried about a quarter bouncing off my bald head!!

Or a pirate scoop bouncing off of their brainless skulls, either. Stuff like that always peeves me off, though I must say I would have enjoyed pocketing the drunks car keys in the previous post.:clapping:

Was detecting in the ocean had a guy come up and ask me what the PH of the water was. Had to explain that it was a detector guess the Excal looks like some kind of fancy water testing gadget.
