whats the big object in this Picture. Hint...Giddy Up!

found on permission a few weeks ago, what's the large circular object? Its brass rang up like a silver half dollar, This one was beveled near the top....Giddy up!

Proper name is a reigns terret. It is surprising that they are a fairly common find, unbroken too. How do you lose something like that?

I was wondering the same thing. Seems like if the nut worked its way loose, it would still be looped around the reigns.
I have found a handful of them over the years, and they are cool to find.

Right and they have the reigns going through them you would think they would stay on the reigns
