What's Next for Makro and the Racer?

Anyone care to speculate on how Makro will likely upgrade the Racer and when we're likely to see a new iteration?

I didn't realize the Racer was upgrade-able? Do you mean replacement? Or like a Racer 2?

I would think they are already finishing up the software on some kind of new flagship. Or are they going to
And bells and whistles to the racer? I hope not wont buy an upgrade. I want the next step up. Are they going to
Follow the U.S. or do it right and move forward? I would like to see usb updates on a new machine. Wireless coil and
Headphones. Added depth. Multi freq and iron vol and maybe their own boost mode. Sell it for a grand and I
May sell the deus if their upgrade is not a major game changer.

The Racer hasn't even been out for a year and folks are already wondering what will be next? Lets see, White's V3i top of the line has been out since 2009 and not replaced yet. Fisher F75 been out for how long and not replaced yet. Teknetics T2 not replaced yet. I'm thinking the Racer is due to be replaced sometime about 2023.

I definitely do not want a wireless coil.. wireless headphones yes..memory to save settings. Pistol grip..although i like the racer the way it is..

There is supposed to be a Makro Racer Gold Detector being released this year but haven't heard anything about it in a while, so what's up with that?

They are a new company and they will build on the racer and not take years to do it

I don't know about being a new company. Nokta and Makro were owned by two brothers. Nokta has been building detectors since 2001 and they acquired Makro in 2014. Nokta and Makro detectors are built in the same factory by the same people.

[size=large]Makro / Nokta are in a very competitive market here in the States. I see them working exceptionally hard to deal with the plastic breaking on the coil ears by replacing them and the vendor that tried to cut corners by providing an inferior product. Too, I saw a tweak in software for the second shipment that came in that were less prone to overloading. Possibly what you will see is a continued effort by these folks to deal with the problems that come up and so far they have done great. I think that we need to be patient and work with them as with any company that hits a big market with a new detector. There are going to be problems as we know well from experience with US companies.
I think the Racer is an awesome machine and hard to beat for the money. Makro / Nokta will probably continue to listen to the customers and address what is reasonable and continue to tweak their machines. I can see them changing the top on the display to show a coin indication instead of what is there now. It would be easy to do as nickels tend to fall in one area and other coins in another.

They do not need a Multi freq For they work better in salt water and bad soil better than any of the Multi Freq detectors...

That's a pretty big statement. I think the Racer works better than any other single frequency detector that I've used when it comes to wet saltwater sand but it's not nearly as deep as my multi freq. Sovereign in that environment.

Anyone know how to get the software rev version out of the Racer? Must be some "secret" combination of holding buttons/trigger upon power-on that would display that.

I see you use the Sovereign and Racer and you say the Sovereign is deeper .. All i have is the Sovereign i was going by that video were the Racer did as good or better than the CTX 3030 in the salt water..

I'm also waiting to see what the Gold Racer has to offer. Was hoping for this Fall. Now it looks like next Spring.

I think what that video shows is that the Racer does a very good job against the CTX3030 on a gold chain. Gold chains are tough for most detectors to get a good hit. Try that same test with a gold ring buried about 12" deep in the wet saltwater sand and it's a different out come. It would with the Racer against the Sovereign and I'm thinking the CTX3030 also.

Well a higher freq so better for you gold hunters...but it could change the game on silver?:nopity:

You would be correct in your guestimation if 'The Racer' was made in the USA lol - however given its only a couple of years (if that) between the CF77 and the Racer a better guess would be early next year -

There could also be a clue in what they released late last year -

"Our goal for the next few years is to dominate the detector sector with new products developed with unique technologies that will differentiate us and make us known not as a regular detector manufacturer but an exceptional company that exists with its technology. With the new products we are planning to launch between 2015-2017 (Pulse Induction detectors, new technology VLF and pulse imaging systems, hybrid VLF detectors, entry-level detectors, walk-thru security detectors, mine detectors etc.) and with your support, we wish to share the pride and happiness of achieving this goal all together."

No doubt by the time I get competant with the CoRe, there will be yet another to take on

I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
