George, you should remember the Double Eagle. That was my favorite only because it found me so many nice relics

Lol looks like the most basic metal detector ever.

It was. But seriously, I did find more relics with that machine. The only nob at that time which had any use was the one that cut it on and controlled the volume. Since the discrimination technology came about good finds have decreased,, holes dug have decreased, trash has certainly decreased. But being able to call the wife on a cell phone from the car is sure a lot more convenient than trying to find a dime and a pay phone. :beers:

I feel older all the time and I'm only 20

Now you're making me think back. I am guessing that tone ID is cheating as well and Sovereigns are 'Foreign'.

Whites Coinmaster TR/2D
Tesoro Eldorado w/Widescan coil
Fisher 1265-X
Tesoro Bandido II
Tesoro Silver Sabre uMax
Tesoro Bandido II uMax

I going to say either of the Bandido II's followed closely by the Silver Sabre uMax.

One old machine i still like using is the Arado120b from the 80s,i have 2 superb condition ones still, they look primitive but will still give alot of more modern machines a run for the money, very deep in its day and was deadly on roman sites,in its day it was the No1 machine here in the UK.

Had one around that time. Did not do well in Virginia mineralized soils! Cheers
