I got my detector back from the Garrett repair department on friday, but had to wait until today to go try it out. WOW it was worth the wait! I went back to the place that I found some IH and wheat pennies, thinking that I might find a Barber dime. Well, no dimes were to be found today. Instead, I got a very strong silver dollar signal. I thought "great, another pop can". I went over this site a while back, and must have barely missed this signal. Five inches deep I noticed a large silver coin, it was the 1904 Barber half. I nearly flipped my lid! Then the 1896 Barber half popped out...my first pre 1900 silver coin ever! Then I see this huge silver disc...no...it can't be...what?...it is!!! An 1896 Morgan silver dollar! They are in very nice shape, and how I managed not to scratch them is a miracle. I nearly passed out as it sunk in that I had found three huge silvers in the same hole, at a site that I had already hunted. Today was probably my last hunt for the season, and it sure ended with a bang!!!

Thanks guys!

Orion, it's the GTAx 550. I think going to get an AT Pro, but I will always use my 550 as well...it's a great machine.

Yes it is. I got one a few years ago and still use it as well as my 2500. I'm going to get a sniper coil for it this spring and since Garrett stopped production of the 550, I'll be keeping it for a long time.

:usaflag:All I can say is....WOW! The coinspill dreams are made of, congrats.

I would send that picture and your story to Garrett. Definately worthy of the free Pro-pointer contest.

Pro pointer contest? Where do I sign up lol! I have never used a pinpointer before, I imagine it makes locating the target a lot easier...

The Pro-Pointer is the best. Saves a ton of time locating those hard to see targets. Go to Garretts web page and click on the box for "Win a Pro-Pointer"

What a great find! You had better send some nice large photos with a story to Garrett. Might even win a ProPointer:crazy:

I submitted my story with pictures to Garrett for that contest. It's pretty neat that it's a Pro-Pointer contest seeing as how I just had my detector's pinpoint button repaired. If they give me a Pro-Pointer, I won't wear out my pinpoint button so fast lol!

My wife keeps smiling and sort of laughing at me because I have been carrying these coins around and looking at them under the magnifying lens all night...:bouncy:

Fantastic finds bud. You really scored on that pile. Turn the pics and story into Vaughan Garrett for "Find Of The Month" and win a Pro-Pointer.

Bill

WTG! Great finds. Those prairie lands are not so bad afterall. Thanks for sharing and somehow I kinda suspect there might be just "one" more tiny little hunt.
