After watching my brother find a Schenkle shell..(I did the digging) I had to get a detector. This was over 30 years ago.

I was contaminated by a friend. The rest of my friends gave me my Garrett AT PRO to meet half a century. I love the story and thanks to the findings I've found, I've learned a lot.

I stopped at a garage sale 40+ years ago, asked what the thing was. He tried to explain it then dropped the price from $100 to $40 told me "kid if you don't get it to work save your receipt and I will give you all your money back." I took it to a park and found $38. in coins, in the first tot lot. I thought to myself there's another tot lot down the street in which I found over $ 40. plus some Jewelry ( which my girlfriend took away from me ) I have been Hooked ever since. Back then I never seen anyone with a metal detector Except me.

There are a bunch of detectorists in Western PA ....... I have met some of them..
