What kind of detectors are you all swinging? Satisfied?

a minelab Xterra 50 and a Tesoro Bandito II umax. I like the BIIumax a lot. I am still evaluating the Minelab. It is a little quirkier than I've used in the past. I wish it had small coils to go with it.

I haven't used any other detectors other than my Quattro and an el cheapo discovery 1000. My dad still has a whites Eagle II and is ready to upgrade. I like hearing feedback, however, it sometimes is like hearing someone preffering Ford, Chevy, or Dodge! **also I'm am planning to buy a smaller coil for some trashy areas, not sure which one to buy yet.

I use the Minelab Explorer XS for old coins and relics,
The Fisher CZ-20 for water detecting, and the Tesoro Eldorado for competition hunts! :) I love the Explorer, it does things others can't, and the CZ is the Cadillac of water machines! The Tesoro is great for what I use it for! :)

What state are you from?

since the detectors I've used a lot (and was very satisfied with I no linger have). These were the Garrett GTA-1000 Ultra and the Garrett GTAx-1250 and a Fisher 1280x water machine. Last spring I was down to only having a new Garrett ACE 250 and haven't used it enough to say wether I am satisfied or not. A little of good and bad. I love the lighter weight but 2 disadvantages compared to the GTAx1250. First the coil is smaller than the one I had on the 1250 so less ground is being covered. The other is there are fewer notches on the 250 than the 1250. Means when you notch something out on the 250 you are notching out more items than one would with the 1250 - that item could be a gold ring.

I loved the 1250 and really wish I had it back (along with all the coils I had for it) - made a trade with my detecting buddy and he now owns the 1250. Wonder if he'd want to trade it back for the 250.

I have other detectors now but since I haven't had a chance to use them can't say anything about whether I am satisfied with them or not. Only time will tell.

But for me the GTAx 1250 with the large PRO series coil can't be beat if you don't mind the weight. GTA stands for Graphic Target Analysis. Tells you as best it can what it is and how deep and the pinpointing is right on the mark.

I am using the Fisher ID Excel I recently purchased on the forum. I am very satisfied with it so far even though I wish that they made a smaller coil for it. I owned an Explorer II that I really liked but had to sell. The Explorer was a lot of fun and always a challenge. I hope to get another one some day. The Excel has good target separation and a reliable digital readout. I have not been disappointed in it.

I main detectors for hunting coins & Relics are the DFX & Minelab SE

I also use all Garrett & Fisher detectors. just depends on what I'm doing and playing around with. The old fishers made GREAT Water and gold detectors. Just not sure about the news coming out. Garrett are great detectors also. I have to learn about the them all :D:

I have been using my Fisher 1266 X. Used the 1265 X for 4 years before that. It's a sounds only machine. Steve in so az

I use the Minelab Explorer II for old coins and relics,
The Tesoro Stingray II for water detecting, and the Tesoro Eldorado

Garrett GTI 2500 (Stock Coil)
Garrett Ace 250 (6.5x9, 9x12,& 4" Sniper Coils)
Also have an old ADSII Garrett with 3 coils and bloodhound 2 coil attachment and 3 coils, also a Whites 5900 Di. I still like to play with the olds ones at times.
God Bless

Sometime, when you can take the time, please compare the 1250 and the 1000, as you have used both machines, as I use a gtax 1000 pm and also a cz 20. Thank you very much. Also the very best of hunting with your water machine.

I have put the majority of my time, on a Old Teknetics Mark-1.
I still have a Custom modified Mark-1 LTD that I just got done
converting.I also have just aquired a couple more detectors to check out this spring, Whites 6000 XL pro and a Compass Gold Scanner pro.
Plus a Whites TM 800 for Dump sites.I first started out with a fisher
1260-X but soon went to the Tek. I have also used a Tesoro Toltec 100
which was a Nickel Killer!......Theres alot of Excellent detectors
