Hi my name is Brad and I'm a coil junkie....... I have the procoil, the sunray x5, the 6x8 sef, the 11 inch ultimate, the 10x12sef, and the big old 12x15sef. And I love them all (and wish I could justify/afford some of the others available.....)! LOL The 12x15 I've actually only used a few times but I have some sites that I'm looking forward to swinging it over this fall. My favorite go to coil is the 10x12 sef but they all have their uses. I've hunted semi trashy areas with the 6x8 and done very well, very trashy areas with the x5 and been amazed. I've found a lot of goodies with the 10x12 though. I do use the procoil on occasion when I'm hunting someplace I don't think has been hit too hard or where the stuff isn't too deep or surrounded by trash. Currently I'm switching between the 11 inch ultimate and the x5 because I've only been hitting a couple of sites. It's been too dry here to hunt any private yards and the farmed fields are still in crops-wishing-for-rain. So I'm hunting a couple of hunted out parks with the ulitimate and finding some previously missed goodies. The x-5 has been my buddy in some local construction sites where I've picked up some nice pieces that others have missed. HH to you all

Very nice set of coils. Looks like you have everything covered. I'm curious about the 13" Ultimate coil myself and may pick one up sometime this fall. What do you think of the Ultimate as compared to the SEF 12 x 10? Coils and fishing rods, you cannot have enough. At least that's what I tell my wife.
I am a fan of the small to mid size coil club for the reason that it simplifies hunting the trashy areas. I use the method of backing up my coil along the sense line to pinpoint alot (instead of Xing) and the smaller coil deeps me from backing up onto a target I didn't know was there. My current mid size coil is the SEF 6x8 which I really like, but am thinking Sunray X5 in the near future as I consider the 6x8 a midsize, not a small coil.
My 6x8 spends LOTS of time on my machine and I really like its performance.
hi Ohiocoinhunter.. Im new to this forum and this is my first post here.I used to watch your videos on youtube and liked it alot but you havnt post any video for a long time????
I haven't posted a detecting video in about a year. For a couple of years I was obsessed like a mad man and spent every spare hour out hunting and filming and posting. On my days off I'd hop in the car and drive for hours to hunt new sites. I couldn't get enough of detecting. Now I'm pretty much burned out. I've only hunted a few times this year. I realized I was burned out when I went hunting with Goes4ever. I dug a walking liberty half and didn't even get excited about it. Goes4ever even mentioned I didn't seem too excited. I knew I had lost a lot of my former enthusiasm. The train ran out of steam, I guess. It happens. I'm sure the metal bug will bite again and the old enthusiasm will return. In the meantime, I enjoy keeping an eye on what's happening in the detecting world by reading posts and watching hunting videos. I appreciate that you like my videos and, well, who knows, maybe that bug will bite soon and I'll be hunting and filming again with a vengeance. Dan
I think a lot of newbees get so hung up on there silver count they don't have a good time detecting. To be honest with you I use to never keep track of the silver I found. If it was old that was good enough for me.
I have the 11" pro that came with my machine, bought an 8X6 SEF, just sent out a M.O. for a Sunray Stealth 5" coil w/lower shaft. With the 5" I hope to get more out of a few parks around here that are carpeted with rusted crown caps and a few screwcaps. In these areas, I have pulled 2 U.S. half dimes and a very shallow 1875-S seated quarter. Also maybe some I.H.'s that I know are being masked by those dang caps. I found the aforementioned coins with my Exporer XS, and have not been to these areas with my etrac yet. I am not ready to buy a CTX yet to get those coins......lol NGE
