What is you favorite scoop...?

... been looking at long handled scoops and trying to narrow down my selection. Just to make sure I didn't miss some, what are some of the favorite long-handled scoops you guys are using.

I am starting to notice a "slight" disparity between the features I want and the price I want to pay...

Been using RTG aluminum 6" with ss lip and t-handle....wanting RTG 6" screen bottom with ss lip and t-handle.

One with a big fat gold ring in it! But serious I need to up grade my self to a long handle scoop, HH tigerhank68

RTG 6" full stainless.

The one sitting in my closet not getting any use at all b/c my water machine is still in the shop:thumbdown: It's a large Stealth scoop and I'm sure it is all that and then some, but won't be able to tell you until I get my machine back. Hey, it looks good sitting in that closet anyway!

Not quite the diversity among these things I had hoped for. Still, some good ideas to look at though...

Thanks
John

Not a lot of diversity, true, but you have to go with what works. Look at shovels for instance, not a lot of diversity there either but it gets the job done and there isn't a better design. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I am using the STAVR evroexcavator-2 v .22

Great scoop! For a handle I bought a cheap shovel with a fibreglass handle and used that. Weighs just under 2 kg.

Got side tracked on this (work got in the way...) but back on the trail now. Just wondering if anyone has any other favorites.

I ran into a guy at the beach with what appeared to be a very well built welded aluminum scoop with a two piece handle about 4-5 ft long, but he didn't know the name of it and I couldn't find it at Kellyco where he said he got it. It was surprisingly lite...

My favourite is one my father in law made for me. It is ugly as sin but rock solid and has all the features I like in a scoop. A wood handle so that I can let go of it and not have to feel around the bottom to find it again, the handle is angled back from the scoop so that when the handle is straight up the scoop is angled just right to dig, it has a large kick plate on the back and the handle is not right at the rear of the scoop so it doesn't twist and dump when I lift it. The stavro scoops have a lot of these features, definitely ones I would consider if buying.

stavr scoop for the wet sand and big loop scoop in the water

Have had a couple rtg scoops, a couple pro-scoops, a stealth scoop, a nuttall scoop and most recently a stavr evro 2.2....

Tthe stavr is my favorite for all around use in water, wet & dry sand.
