what is the best detector for finding small gold jewellery

n/t

:yikes: those are some great finds & you"v hit the small gold well to. what type of hunting do you mostly do ??. one of the detectors on my wish list is a tesoro tiger shark for lake hunting i know they get the small gold to, they retail for $1498 over here so i"v got a little more $$ to dig up ( $500 ) before i can get one
lazyaussie :ausflag:

they cost that as the Aussie dollar is worth less than the US dollar plus tax's on the detector when coming into Aussie plus a higher mark up by the dealer ??? just my guess or it could be plain greed  but if i want the lifetime warranty i"ll have to buy in Aussie or i might have to pay some high postage cost if any thing goes wrong with it.

Must be tax as the Canadian dollar is less than the US as well and a new Tiger Shark can be had for less than 800.00 dollars canadian. Dan

The higher frequency 10-12- 14 KHZ and even some higher enable them to hit the gold pretty good. A lot of tesoro's will hit gold chains.Something most detectors will not do.Ball up a gold chain and try to detect it, then stretch it out and see if your detector will hit it.

Now this..Most detectors in all metal hit rings...Just a matter of how much junk you are willing to dig ...Rings are not pure gold..so they read all over the place.

I made this video a while back.

Are you telling me the tot lots have gold jewelery? I always just disc out all but the coins in the tot lots. Am I missing the boat? :rage:

Yes, you are definitely missing the boat. Just found this today w/my Ace-in the foil range. Actually, it "booped" with a low relics tone but changed when I centered the coil to the standard tone and ID'd foil. Tested the Silver Umax when I got home and it was scratchy in lowest disc, but really sounded off in all metal. It may not be real gold, have not had the bracelet tested yet. Gotta get one of Tab's testers. It had "I LOVE YOU" in gold on the curved portion of the bracelet.

Yep, next to beaches being #1, I would wager that tot lots is a real close second to lost gold.
