Were being taken out of the equation as detectorists...when it says dig...you dig.Just like when the school bell rings!...`THATS` what it is about the Compadre..Its a back to the beginning, make your own decision, affordable, easy to use, lightweight, find everything detector.....just my 2cents worth..Ralph
I think my question is most important. HOW IS HE? I've searched on the forums I knew he was on- and the last I heard of him was almost a year ago. Hope he's fine and would appreciate any info.KVM2 said:Once upon a time in Arkie land, there was a character named David Brown who made the Compadre famous...I bought one recently because of him...Dave was ahead of anyone else out there with respect to this Little BIG metal detector. Dave is also known to a few as TABDOG...I see him occasionally on other sites, but in spite of everything he belongs on Finds..Any chance the mods and owners would invite him back??

I don't use my Silver umax near as much since I got the Compadre. And I can't imagine using it if I had the Vaq.Tajue17 said:I'm still new at this but have the vaquero and the compadre now,,, my state of mind when I reach for the detectors is the vaquero is more technical (more thinking) where I have to check ground balance all the time and then mess with the threshold if I'm near wet sand, but the compadre when I take that I know I'm thinking that I just want to turn it on and find stuff,,,,also I've yet to be convinced the vaquero will find something the compadre wont and I do love both....my battle is should I get the silver Umax,,,,,,,,,the compadre will always have a home here and I would love to get my hands on the bigger coild version some day.
