what is best way to set up my 250

You opened up a can of worms with that one. Everyone has their own settings that works for them. Try them all. Try different settings and even do some field testing in your own yard. Coin mode or Custom with four on the right and the nickle with 3 or 4 bars sens works pretty good for many places. If you know the area is going to be clean you can go to jewelery and find more sometimes. It's trial and error for sure......and practice and patience.......

Knowing what most of us do that have used the 250 for a while, how many of you would even consider using the all metal mode? I can't imagine why they told a new person to do that.

I tired all metal mode ONCE for 10 minutes or less, what a joke. My detector was beeping nonstop

I've had 570 hunts since I bought my Ace. There has been only one place that was clean enough that I used all metal.

On sand beaches I will run in relic and dig every little beep. In the dirt I'm in jewelry mode mostly. When I run out of time I'll flip to coin mode.
