What is a Sierra Super Track ???????

Hey RedRockNv,

Ill be back that way within the week just finished my job here and think Im going to hit the beach a couple days before heading out.

I could Pm you and let you know if you wanted to check out the SST at Mills park or something!

Hey Harold..lLL

I have not had a explorer but the first hunt I hit a silver Rosie at about 7 inches (Guestamate by Lessh) and the audio was loud and crisp I know I could have gotten way more depth I havent had time to re berry it and see what max is for the SST in this soil.

As far as my G2 in disc mode it goes to a whole other level.

By the deep signals I was struggling to get down to with my less and the even deeper one I was hearing it is deeper than I want to dig in most parks.

Only two real hunts so far so still getting to know it!!

Thanks for the reply. I was wondering is the tone I.D. Set in the middle trigger position? Or is it like the M6 and you have to push it forward as I didn't care for that as I like to hunt in tone I.D. And heard they were changing it? I think they will start coming are way,Or that is what I heard if they sell well. And lastly are the balanced good as far as weight? Thanks.

It hunts in tone id at all times the trigger is just for pinpointing.
As far as balance if you hold it with one finger on the front of the trigger it is perfect but thats just a bit in front of the handle so ever so slightly nose heavy But I also have it fully extended. One click up might be perfect.I still have to weigh it, there are no specs in the owners guide.

So will they sell it to folks on the East Coast or is it strictly a West Coast thing?

Took my SST out for an hour hunt today, An old park pounded to death but gives an old coin or two each trip out.

Managed to get one wheat penny, The rest clad but now I'm starting to get accustomed to the iron and low tone telling them apart without looking at the screen.

Even though iron and the lowest tone are similar, at least for me they are I noticed today the lowest conductive tone accelerates faster than the iron tone. That's a major break for me helping tell both tones apart, Now I know what to train my ears too so that alone will greatly improve my finds plus allow me to not view the ID screen as often going by sound alone.

Plus, Followed your advice and tuned out iron and sure enough was able to wash out most of the iron audio without sacrificing depth. That would be a good setup for those after surface coins, Had a fun hour hunt the SST is going to be a good unit.

Take care,
Paul (Ca)

Hello Harold,

They are balanced well, Allot lighter than an MXT sort of feels like it's an empty control box with no guts.

Take care,

Hey CladDog,

You can get one but just have to order through one of the west coast dealers and have it shipped to you.

Hey Paul,

Glad you got to hunt and have some fun.
Thanks I will listen on that low tone. Should help me not to dig as much small foil.

seems to me like a simplified coinmaster GT the GT has automatic ground tracking, more tone available, beach mode, and backlight for night hunting,
plus it cost less.

Hello ditit,

Took a while for my ears to get accustomed to the iron and low conductive tone differences, the foil/nickel tone accelerates faster over the iron tone.

Try it out, place a piece of foil or nickel on the ground and then a nail all spaced apart. Then compare the nail and foil/nickel signals, both are low tone but the foil/nickel tone will accelerate faster than the iron tone.

Now, I know what to train my ears too without viewing the meter on low tones. My ears are finally getting accustomed to knowing an iron tone from low conductive.

Take care, Don't work too hard I know you put in allot of hours.
