What does 03 30 mean?

Hello and thank you ahead of time for the answers. My explorer II was showing some readings that I was wondering what they might be such as 00 28, 00 00, 00 30, 02 28 etc. Once before some one showed me a great sight that has so many readings and what type of coin it should be and unfortantly I lost that sight. Promise to not lose it this time. Thanks again, Frank

Noticed a couple things in that chart. It looks like on some larger coins, the conductivity actually goes back down in comparison to a smaller coin.

For example:
One Dollar, Silver Eagle 00--15
One Dollar, Morgan 00--25,26
VS.
1/2 Dollars, walking Lib 00--28
1/2 Dollars, Franklin 00--28
VS
Quarter standing Lib 00--29
Quarter, Wash, Silver 00--29

I would never have expected a silver dollar to have a lower conductivity than a half, and a half to be lower than a quarter. (especially for the silver eagle, which at 1oz is even larger than a morgan)

It seems to be the same story on the 10 dollar gold VS 5 dollar gold.

Any idea why this is the case?

I dug 2 halves with my Explorer 2, and can tell you that they do in fact hit lower than a silver quarter or dime in the SmartFind screen.

Take care,
Todd

You have to remember how big say a Half Dollar is compared to a Silver Quarter. It takes the same amount of Signal to enter these 2 different Targets but there will be a "Lesser Charge or Signal" on a Half Dollar than a Silver Quarter due to Size and Thickness of the Half Dollar because it has lost some of the Intensity of the Signal due to how much more Mass there is. At least that is what I think is the reason. Now take the Silver Dollar. That is Twice the Size and it is Thicker than that of the Half Dollar which in turn will make the Display and Signal be lower in Tone and Reading. Sometimes I find a Half Dollar that will read a 27 for Conduct but it has only happened a few times. Usually the Half will read 28 Conduct while the Silver Dollar will read 25 Conduct. Another thing to watch for is the Smartfind Screen Location. This will help ID between a Quarter, Half Dollar, or a Silver Dollar better than Digital. They will all be lower than the Quarter on the right hand side of the screen. The Half will be 1 down from where the Quarter reads and I believe that the Silver Dollar will read 2 Lines below the Half Dollar. I hope I am on the right track here and if not, maybe someone else here on the Forum can help out with this question. Good Luck and HH.

Thank you, Very helpful. Still new to this my first detector and still learning slowly but ever so slowly. Now if I just find a way to save this as it went back to the forum and not my e-mail. later, Frank

It means you have 30 minutes till 0400  OK is this signal the same even after you pinpoint it? It looks like a co located target with possible 2 targets. Nickle- Foil and Silver and or Iron. It could even be a meteorite?? Hot rocks and meteorites have that same reading to, but they can be different depending on there composite makeup.

Try this one you will like it and is all you need. http://www.bdomineau.com Excellent site :clapping: Guy did a lot of hard work to get this one. Later Jerry aka Tinfoil.

Have read a lot of sites and this one is new to me and should provide good reading and perhaps a tip or two as we can never learn enough...

I have learned if it is jumping around using the numbers it is doing the same thing with the cursor. learning the numbers is a lot easier using these charts. I just think for the XS,EXPll,and SE guys it is excellent. Makes things a lot easier. Later Bud, time to go hunting. Jerry aka Tinfoil

In my neck of the woods 00-28 would be a Half Dollar.
00-27 26 Silver Dollar.
03 27 can
03 04-28 Dime
00-00 crown cap

[size=medium]Best dang site I've found, a wealth of information here. Personally, after being on this site for around 6 months, suddenly my ExII and all it's features became clear to me. I just had to keep reading the posts and then go detecting with my EX for it to finally become clear and sink into my thick head. A great bunch of knowledgeable dudes that know their stuff and are always willing to help.

On good deep targets does the crosshair jump around on the screen, even to the left on some of the passes over it? Would you only dig a target that repeat in both direction on the wiggle? Need help in identifying deep targets. Thanks, erb
