I started with a silver umax and detected several places in central Texas and found plenty of silver coins And for some reason lots of Mexican coins. I went and ordered an AT pro and used it for about a year. With it I found some deep ww2 coins from Germany and the vichi government at our place in Gonzales. For some reason I just liked the knobs and infinite adjustment I think I get from a true analog setup. Not to mention the at pro's language wasn't as pleasant as the silver's. I sold the at pro intending to buy a vaquero but came across a good deal on an excellent condition eldorado umax and bought it instead. It wasn't as deep as I'd hoped but the thing sure is predictable and stable running. I gave my silver to my dad and purchased a used Tejon this year and I am just getting acclimated to running it. Setting the ground balance is a bit different that that of the Eldorado. The one thing common to all three is the repeatability of targets, where the at pro sounded like a rooster in a cockfight wth multiple tones coming from the same target, the Tesoros just seem to give a better audio response. I'm not trying to belittle the AT pro, which is one heck of a detector, I just got comfy with the knobs and simplicity of setting up and operating the Tesoros.
