There isn't a lot you can do with people of that mentality,if you tell them they are being an asshole they will still act like an asshole because they are assholes.

Usually an airsoft AR slung across your back keeps the arsholes away.

No difference then taking your dog for a walk and not cleaning up after they got to the bathroom. Respect is everything when in a public place. If it is your back yard I don't give a shit , when you go to the park or any place that is not your own clean up and cover your holes and pick up after your animals common sense .

First I would introduce myself. And ask him how long he’s been detecting. Then I would tell him the first thing I learned when detecting starting off. Always cover your holes up and put your trash in your pouch or the garbage can. I’ll also tell him someone has been leaving their trash on the ground from recent digs. And that makes us that enjoys the hobbies look bad. I would try and get the point across without sounding like a arsehole. Then the sig 45 cal I carry on my side might be intimidating.
